If he has a broken hand or finger, he’s going to be out a while

Honestly, this game should be done and dusted. Baylor has zero offense and the only way that they’re going to stay in the game is through Utah mistakes. If Rising can’t come back, watch the second half just be a litany of runs and short passes to mitigate errors by Wilson and the offense.

For real? If so, turn out the lights because the party’s over. No way Utah even challenges for the conference title with Wilson as QB1.

I hate to say it, but it’s looking a lot like last year. Offense needs to get it’s act together. Defense already looks like it’s in mid season form.

Yeah, these refs are dubious. In the NFL that’s most definitely a personal foul. Instead of releasing Rising, the Baylor dude got a push in at the end of the play.

I’m at the game and saw him shaking his right hand as he came off the field.

Yeah, well, there are two sides to every coin. I guess my point is that if you want to win, and win immediately, you go after a proven guy, like Alabama did with Kalen DeBoer. Moore might turn out to be great but you get much more of a guarantee if you with a guy that’s already demonstrated competence.

That would really be a kick in the nuts for the B1G.

Yeah, Bentley is another guy I’m familiar with since I lived in Columbia, SC before moving back to Utah. I once saw him throw for well over 500 yards and 5 TDs at Clemson when that team was at its highest level. He most definitely was not the same guy is his one year stint in Utah

Well, you mentioned it…my biggest fear with Scalley is his small Contact list and exposure to other systems, coaching philosophies, and ways of doing things. Even KW had multiple coaching experiences away from Utah before he came to the Utes. We’ll just have to wait and see. I can already tell that Scalley has a totally different personality…[Read more]

TCU lost the conference championship to KSU in 2022. Did you forget? This is the same committee that left an undefeated, untied, conference winning FSU team out of the CFP. Hard to see how Utah gets in unless they win the Big XII championship.

Hmmm, I always had a different take on Brewer. Essentially, that he has too much confidence. I mean the dude is the second leading passer in Baylor history and had some monster games with the Bears. I followed him closely as he made his transition to Utah and the primary reason why Aranda showed him the door was his lengthy injury history, in…[Read more]

Michigan repeated the same mistake that Washington did a few years ago when they hired Jimmy Lake to replace Chris Petersen. In essence, hiring an inexperienced and untried individual (Sherrone Moore has never been a head coach at any level) to replace a legend. Michigan’s big problem is that they’re not enough of a blue blood, as their records…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic How much better would Utah be with JJ? in the forum Football 2 months, 1 week ago
Hard to say how much better Utah would be if JJ was still here. If he was able to go through a full season unscathed from injuries, probably a whole lot better. If he reverted to his history of picking up injuries, probably not much better. It really depends on his availability.

Personally, I have a real hard time rooting for the competition.

If he’s not fully fit or the same player he was before his injury, we’ll most definitely find out against stiffer competition. I keep thinking of Brewer looking good versus Weber State in 2021 and then laying eggs versus BYU and SDSU. Hopefully, Rising doesn’t repeat that script.

Supposedly the class of the conference, along with Utah, and down 20-10 at Tulane going into halftime.

I picked Arkansas to win this game in the Pick’Em contest. Always hard to pick against an SEC team even if they’re not top of the conference and playing away.
