I’ll second that and also add that the PAC was a way more attractive conference to play in. In the old PAC you could make the case for the presence of two legitimate, and possibly a third, blue blood football powers without even considering Utah. And I’m not even going to touch upon the educational differences between the old PAC and the current Big XII.

Am I the only one that’s lost all interest in HS recruiting? Most of those guys never really pan out. Seems to me that, given the current landscape in college football, the transfer portal is where all the action is. This kid that’s on the subject line might never play a down for the Utes even if he does commit to the program.

You tell me: Mike Sharavjamts
Actually, I was referring to Callman’s comments which don’t line up with reality.

Just for the record, Sharamjavts is not Mongolian. He was born in Phoenix and has lived his entire life in the US. He does play for the Mongolian national basketball team because his parents were born in Mongolia.

Lol…does anyone do any research before they engage the keyboards? This guy is as American as anyone on this site seeing as he was born in Phoenix and has lived his entire life in the US. Based on that, I doubt that he has more than just the basics of the Mongolian Language down. He does have Mongolian nationality via his parents.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Some talk online about Utah considering a move to ACC in the forum Football 5 months, 3 weeks ago
I’m a Miami fan and I can tell you that I have little to no hope for Miami joining either the B1G or SEC. Miami is a small private school with an equivalent fan base. Other than the football fame garnered during the 80s-2000s glory years, they really bring nothing to the table. In addition, there’s nothing more that Florida and FSU would like…[Read more]

I always liked Bill Walton and his bombastic style. He definitely wasn’t for everyone but definitely was for me. I always hoped to run into him at one of the Ute games but it never happened. Fly high Bill, I’ll check in with you on the other side.

Here’s my concern…if FSU and Clemson leave the ACC, that’s just the first day, because you can certainly bet that schools like UNC and Virginia won’t be far behind. My guess is that, if FSU and Clemson leave the ACC, all that does is set the stage for the conference’s eventual implosion. In that scenario, Utah is best served by holding tight…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic So basically, Utah is eliminated from the Pac-12 baseball tournament? in the forum Other Ute Sports 5 months, 4 weeks ago
Utah got hurt by losing four straight games to end the season to a mediocre USC baseball team. Suffice it to say that if USC hadn’t won those games, they’d be a team with a losing record. I guess they’re doing to us in baseball what they can’t do in football.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jerome Myles in the forum Football 5 months, 4 weeks ago
You’d like to think so. However, I believe, the money would have to be pretty equal to retain even a local kid. I mean, if Utah offers you $250K but say, USC or Oregon, offers you $500K, I don’t know of anyone who would stay at Utah.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jerome Myles in the forum Football 5 months, 4 weeks ago
The list of 5 stars that were busts at the college level is pretty extensive. There really is no guarantee of success. The other thing is that let’s say that he went to Utah and set the world on fire in his freshman season. Do you really think that Utah would be able to retain him when a B1G or SEC power came calling?

The Miami Ute replied to the topic ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jerome Myles in the forum Football 5 months, 4 weeks ago
Yawn… he’ll be there one season, get little to no action and enter the portal at the end of the year. As I’ve said in other postings, it’s hard for me to get excited about anyone that hasn’t played a down of college football.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Statue of Responsibility??? in the forum Misc 5 months, 4 weeks ago
It’s a blight on the landscape of something out of North Korea or Turkmenistan. What we need to do is create less man made “wonders” and provide more protection to spaces of natural beauty. Constructing a pharaonic project like the above surely isn’t going to convince anyone to travel to Utah.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Interesting poll question on Twitter/X in the forum Football 6 months ago
That’s true but we live in the world of unlimited transfers and NIL. I have to imagine that a guy of Meyer’s stature, combined with Utah’s NIL, would be able to attract a number of talented players to the Hill. I mean, if Meyer gets back in the game there really isn’t any other HC in college football that has more name recognition.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Interesting poll question on Twitter/X in the forum Football 6 months ago
The interesting thing is that Mayer is five years younger than Whitt. So, you have to imagine that he still has gas left in the tank. Hypothetically speaking, let’s say that Utah wins the Big XII next season, makes the CFP, and makes a good showing there. At that point, Whitt decides to call it a day requiring Utah to get a new HC. Personally,…[Read more]
