The Miami Ute replied to the topic Vaki to Lions in the forum Football 6 months, 3 weeks ago
I don’t know fellas…if I was Vaki, I’d be more in, for a career, as a Safety. The RB position in the NFL has been completely devalued over the last two decades. RBs are eminently disposable, don’t get nowhere near the money as other value positions, and tend to have a very short life span in the NFL. As a Safety, Vaki could play into his 30s…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Chris Curry to TP in the forum Football 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Well, it obviously means that Curry thought that he wasn’t going too many reps. That’s probably a good thing for the Utes though you’d obviously like to keep him for his experience.

Honestly, I’m to the point that if you can’t come in and contribute immediately, then I don’t really care if you come to Utah or not. The days of being able to stockpile recruits are over for all schools. This guy could be the second coming of Randy Moss but if he isn’t getting paid and getting a lot of reps out of the gate, then more than…[Read more]

Even worse, be glad he didn’t go to ASU.

Hey now…I was there when the U won two ‘ships and played for a third. Ain’t nothing like it in the world. Not sure Utah will ever experience anything remotely like that.

Yeah Charlie, I have that space argument with pro-massive immigration people all of the time. They focus solely on the size of the USA and completely ignore how populations would be concentrated around the country or what the quality of life would be for those people. Let me tell you, if we continue the way we’re going, it won’t be long before…[Read more]

FFS, why do all of these great Utah players go to a hated division rival?

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Buk m Buk and immigration law thoughts in the forum Misc 6 months, 3 weeks ago
You know, I hear that “we still have a lot of empty space” quite a bit from the pro-immigration crowd. What it fails to take into consideration is that large portions of US territory are not suitable for habitation (particularly in the West), or are part of the national and state park systems, or belong to federally recognized American Indian…[Read more]

Just asking, what would satisfy you? A USA with a population of 500M? 700M? 1B? If people can’t afford to buy homes now, I can just imagine if we double or triple our population. The pressure on resources, services, and the environment would also be at an extreme.
The fact is that we don’t need any more immigration, unless it’s discreet and…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Utah Inherits an NHL Team That Could Be a Playoff Caliber Team Next Season in the forum Professional Sports 6 months, 3 weeks ago
You bet. A lot of people in the NHL know think that this situation is eerily reminiscent of the Quebec Nordiques move to Colorado in 1995. That team won the Stanley Cup during their first year in Colorado and has never looked back since then and becoming one of the most successful franchises in the NHL. Now, I’m not saying that the Utah…[Read more]

Great analysis from Shannon AKA “The Hockey Guy” on the new Utah NHL franchise. For those that don’t follow his YouTube channel, it’s easily one of the best out there not devoted to one specific team (though he’s a Vancouver and Bruins fan). I’ve been perusing for a couple of years and he really comes into his own during the Stanley Cup…[Read more]

Chingis, you’re a smart guy but you’re way over your skis on this issue. The fact is that if someone claims that immigration doesn’t carry any adverse consequences, they likely lack a comprehensive understanding of its mechanics. When the labor pool expands, the cost for firms to employ workers diminishes. Long-term wage patterns indicate that a…[Read more]

Maybe. It wouldn’t be the first time a guy enters the portal and comes back to the same team. It just happened in Logan with Ian Martinez. He entered the portal on 3 April but decided to finish out his college career with Utah State.

Utah will definitely have competition for Edwards’ services. Not only is he a good runner but he’s an excellent receiver out of the backfield. He’s from Kansas, so it wouldn’t surprise me to see him go to another Big XII outfit.
