I disagree with your comments about MDUte. Whoever he is, he provides more useful content than 90 percent of the people who frequent this site. Just because you got into a pissing contest with him, doesn’t mean that you can expect everybody here to support your ban campaign. I remember that something similar happened to me a few months ago and…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Auburn leaves UA, signs new 10 year deal with Nike in the forum Football 7 months, 1 week ago
Last year, I bought a pair of UA Utah Utes shoes because UA is the only company that manufactures legit Utah gear. Well, suffice it to say that, other than to try them on, I’ve never worn them and they’re still in the original box in my closet for all the reasons you illustrated. Thank God I got them at a massive discount otherwise I’d be double bummed.

I’ve been hoping against hope that Utah would leave UA and go to Adidas. Adidas does the uniforms and fan apparel for a large number of college teams to include Miami (that’s how I know), Washington, Nebraska, ASU, Kansas, Louisville, Indiana, NC State, A&M, and I could go on…

Yes, I meant of the current team.

Martinez is the Beavers’ best player, by far. I mean he’s an NFL talent. I always thought it was shocking that he didn’t follow Jonathan Smith to Michigan State.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Mikey Matthews transfer reason in the forum Football 7 months, 2 weeks ago
Whoever’s advising Matthews should be fired. I mean, Utah played all of last year with the 3rd and 4th string QBs. Did Matthews not see how much Utah threw the ball during the 2021 and 2022 seasons? And he thinks that his situation is going to change because he transferred to the offensive juggernaut known as Cal). Allow me to effect surprise.…[Read more]

Other than Davion, this is the best guy Smith has brought in since he became the Utes’ head coach. Really good start to the off-season.

Brother, let me tell you something, there’s a big difference between the way things are and the way you wish them to be. Saying that Tarlac is a Division 1 talent is wishing on a star. I’ve had season tickets the last few years so I’ve seen all of his cameos for the Utes up close and personal.
He is as uninstinctive a basketball player as…[Read more]

This is a big off-season for Smith. If the Utes lay an egg in their inaugural Big XII season, then I see Utah moving on from him.

It’s entertaining if you temper your expectations. Just like watching the Little League World Series is entertaining if you temper your expectations.

I could add a couple of more in Michigan State and Texas A & M and that’s just off the top of my head
But you’re right in the sense that just making the Dance trumps making a deep run in the NIT. -
The Miami Ute replied to the topic U of Pay Loses in the forum Basketball (Men) 7 months, 3 weeks ago
Yeah, totally agree with that. On a neutral court the Utes have handled themselves adequately this season. It’s another thing when the game was away.

I’m not here to criticize but I do disagree with your take regarding the quality level of NIT teams. I’m sure that you know that every single conference tournament champion gets a direct bid to the dance. Well, there’s a few of those teams that had a mediocre regular season and just put things together in the tournament. I’m talking about teams…[Read more]

Keba has all of the physical measurables but is just not an instinctive basketball player and might never be. Fact is that there isn’t a single thing, from a basketball perspective, that he does really well. He surely is an impressive physical specimen and a team player and that’s why Utah, at this point, has no problem seeing him as a…[Read more]

I would make it a priority to make sure Devion stays with Utah. On the positive side, Utah can offer him definite starter’s minutes plus NIL. What he most definitely doesn’t want is to go to another winning team and have to share major minutes or come off the bench in his last college season.

I wouldn’t call his defection a major loss but I think that the team is worse without him. At a bare minimum, he could have provided the Utes 15-20 quality minutes a game.
