Shay, we hardly knew you…

I’d take him. He averaged 9 PPG, 5 AST. and 5 RBs last season playing in a legit league. If we can keep Davion, right there you have the replacement for Worster. He is pretty bad at FTs though, only hitting 63% during his college career.

I had no idea that Woods had a knee injury. He was supposed to be the big portal addition at the RB position. It would really suck if he couldn’t contribute this season.

That’s it Rick. Usually, and I can speak from experience, after you suffer a major injury that keeps you out for an extended period of time, discretion becomes the better part of valor.

It’s not necessarily a given that Cam will be out for a prolonged period any time this year. I mean, look at Penix when he was at Indiana and what he did in Washington. When he was in Indiana, Penix suffered season ending injuries all four seasons he was the starter there (including ACL tears to both knees in different seasons). When he was at…[Read more]

Yeah, well..don’t want to rehash old arguments but, if you knew Rose was what he is, why not look in the portal for a serviceable replacement?

Yeah, that wouldn’t surprise me at all either. If Rose can’t beat out a true freshman for the back-up job, hard to see how he’s ever going to see the field unless some catastrophe strikes. Then again, you never know. Maybe he likes it in Salt Lake City.

I know it’s just a scrimmage but Rising and Singer looked awesome on the first drive for the Red.

I already have a favorite hockey team that I’ve been a fan of for 30 years but the SLC Yeti will be my #2 team.

Coyote name is staying in Arizona. That’s already been decided. Totally new branding, colors, mascot etc in SLC.

Deseret had a story today on BYU’s coaching search and Burgess’ name was at the top of the list.

Can’t fire Smith yet. His buyout would be a problem.

What about if Burgess shits the bed in his first year at BYU? Just a hypothetical. It’s not a given that BYU will be any good next season.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Tarlac and Exacte in Portal in the forum Basketball (Men) 7 months, 2 weeks ago
Tarlac showed enough of his skill set this season for everyone to know that he was never going to get major minutes in an Ute uniform. Exacte showed flashes of promise in his freshman season so it was disappointing to have him miss all of last season. Oh well, neither player is ever going to be an accomplished pro. I’m also interested in seeing…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic How bad would losing Burgess be? in the forum Basketball (Men) 7 months, 2 weeks ago
I looked up his bio and there’s no mention of him being instrumental in any player’s recruitment. It’s just conjecture on my part, but I would guess that he probably played a large role during the last couple of years in recruiting whatever local guys are on the team.
As far as player development, he’s given credit for Brandon Carlson’s…[Read more]

Some may laugh, but I’m definitely of the opinion that the Utah job is too big to give to somebody that’s never been a head coach before. The last time that occurred, Chris Hill hired Jim Boylen and we all remember how that turned out. Yeah, I get that hiring someone that’s been a success with other programs (like Giacoletti or Coach K) isn’t…[Read more]

I’m not certain that Burgess is #1 on the list for the simple reason that he has zero head coaching experience. For a tourney team like BYU, I would think that they’d be going for someone that at least has a head coaching track record.
Regarding Burgess, yeah well, I get what a lot of people say on this site that Burgess is actually the glue…[Read more]
