I know that the Red Rocks continually draw big crowds but I don’t know if they’re making a profit. I mean, I only pay $70 for two season tickets. Maybe they are if you include concessions sales. As to the basketball team, I think that the answer is as simple as winning. If the Utes had a return to what they were under Big Rick, I think that the…[Read more]

My guess is that football’s been subsidizing all other sports for years.

I noticed that too. There were so many media timeouts, that I don’t think either team used any of their official timeouts in the second half.

I was listening to 700 on the way home after the game and Bill Riley said that the next matchup would be either Saturday or Sunday. Here’s the catch…if the game vs Iowa is on Saturday, there’s a good chance that it’ll start at 0930 due to telecasting reasons.

You know, that play happened right in front of me and, after it took place, Tillis told Carlson he was just joking with a big smile on his face.

Smith had to take him out, otherwise UCI was going to foul him the moment Utah had the ball.

Yeah, the ESPN analysts said the loss was a really bad look for the ACC.

Once again, Utah’s inability to hit free throws is a factor in the game. So far, I’ve counted Bajema and Keita x 2 missing on and ones and allowing UCI to quickly score.

I think that there’s going to be quite a few Ute “addicts” at the Huntsman tonight. I’ll keep going as long as they keep playing in SLC.

My point is that if the Utes hit 70%+ on free throws in those three games, and maybe hit a couple more in the one and four point losses to Oregon and USC, we’re not even having this conversation because the Utes would be dancing.

Arizona – six point 3OT loss – 47.6 FT%

What killed wasn’t rebounds. It was their inability to hit free throws in what turned out to be very close games. The Utes were last in the PAC 12 in free throw, only hitting 64.9 of their attempts. If they’d averaged 70 percent, they would be in the tournament.

Not excited at all. But it’s Utah basketball. At home. So I’ll be at the Hunty rooting for the Utes. When you dissect their season, it’s really sad to see how close they came to going to the dance.

No, this will be his fifth season. He didn’t start in the league until 2020: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HuntTy01.htm.

If Watson gets back to anything close to what he was with the Texans, you can expect Huntley to not see the field much. The fact that he didn’t have many suitors shows that he’s probably not thought of as starter material in the NFL. That being said, if your personality will let you take it, there have been many QBs that have made a really nice…[Read more]

If Utah had a free throw percentage of, say 70 percent, they would have easily won four or five more games (home at Arizona, away to Oregon, away to Stanford, home to ASU, away to USC). They only have themselves to blame. And wouldn’t a 24-9 record be looking good for Smith?

I don’t know…there might be a big crowd for the game. I just paid $20 for a ticket in the 1st row and courtside tickets are only $40.

Make it make sense? Virginia finished in 3rd place in the ACC during the regular season, won 23 games (including five away conference games), and lost a close ACC Tournament champioship game to NC State. Even with all of that, they just barely got in.

Are you sure? I have season tickets and can’t recall the last time that the Upper Bowl curtains were present. I distinctly remember them being down for BYU, UCLA, Arizona, and Oregon at the very least…
