Other than Davion, this is the best guy Smith has brought in since he became the Utes’ head coach. Really good start to the off-season.

Brother, let me tell you something, there’s a big difference between the way things are and the way you wish them to be. Saying that Tarlac is a Division 1 talent is wishing on a star. I’ve had season tickets the last few years so I’ve seen all of his cameos for the Utes up close and personal.

This is a big off-season for Smith. If the Utes lay an egg in their inaugural Big XII season, then I see Utah moving on from him.

It’s entertaining if you temper your expectations. Just like watching the Little League World Series is entertaining if you temper your expectations.

Yeah, totally agree with that. On a neutral court the Utes have handled themselves adequately this season. It’s another thing when the game was away.

I would make it a priority to make sure Devion stays with Utah. On the positive side, Utah can offer him definite starter’s minutes plus NIL. What he most definitely doesn’t want is to go to another winning team and have to share major minutes or come off the bench in his last college season.

I wouldn’t call his defection a major loss but I think that the team is worse without him. At a bare minimum, he could have provided the Utes 15-20 quality minutes a game.

I’m absolutely certain that they will have tickets for the game. However, just like during bowl games, the regular season ticket holders will have first dibs.

Decent showing by Ute fans tonight. I’m guessing a crowd easily between 6500-7000 or about the number that showed up on Sunday night.

You know Eagle, that’s learned behavior on Whitt’s part. I’ve done a little bit of research and, in his first couple of years as head coach, he was much more forthcoming on injuries, etc…I remember that when Johnson got hurt against New Mexico in 2005, he gave a pretty detailed explanation of his injury (ACL tear) and how long he’d be out.
