I’ve been that way for a while. Probably a sign of how old I’m getting. Essentially, root for the guys that are wearing the uniform when they’re wearing the uniform…everything else is just details that I’m not privy to.

Sounds like they’re smart. You can’t ve doing something wrong and still get 9-10 teams in the tournament.

Tonight’s performance shows why this team is so maddening. Were they to average 60-65 percent from the line, for example, they’d easily have three or four more conference wins. In addition, how does a team play so well at home and so badly on the road? It’s almost bipolar in nature.

None. He’s been in civilian clothes sitting on the bench for a couple of months now. It wouldn’t surprise me if we never see him again in an Utah uniform.

It most certainly could…I have to imagine he doesn’t make it through the season if the Utes show night in, night out that they’re overmatched in the Big 12.

And the funny thing is that, just a couple of years ago, the story was just the opposite. That, if you were a successful college HC in a top program, you really didn’t have to worry much about anything and you had a tremendous amount of control over your environment. I mean, that was the primary reason why Saban left the Dolphins to go to…[Read more]

That’s true but that also doesn’t mean that all of the guys that are currently seniors will automatically return to the program. Some of these guys, like Bajema did this year, could skip town as graduate transfers on to other greater basketball schools if they so desired.

It’s going to have to in order for the Utes to be relevant.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Michigan became an also ran from one season to the next. They were a dumpster fire before Harbaugh got there and could easily return to that status. The hiring of Moore is giving me Chris Petersen/Jimmy Lake vibes.

They’ve won one away game in conference all season and get routinely blown out when playing away from home. I mean the other teams are emptying the bench with 10 minutes left in the games. I’ve never in my 25+ years plus of watching Utah basketball seen a team play so bad, so consistently, away from home. This season was supposed to be when the…[Read more]

Except for MBB.

That’s possible. It would really help to win one or two games in the conference tournament.

Well, you can fire him now or you can fire him next year after the Utes lose all the senior talent on the squad and go 8-23 in their inaugural season in the Big 12. The Big 12 is looking likely to get up to 10 teams in the tournament this year and is really the best basketball conference in the nation.

Man, I’m getting the feeling that next season is going to be a brutal exercise in basketball futility. When I look at what the Big XII has to offer in MBB, you just have to wonder where the wins are going to come from. This especially when you see how many of their core players the Utes are losing, or have the potential to lose, after this year.…[Read more]

I’m not certain that this team makes the NIT. Last year, the team finished 17-15 (10-10) and stayed home.

Looking into my crystal ball, Smith might not make it to the end of next season. Here’s why: I just checked the tournament bracket and the Big 12 has nine very likely tournament teams with another one (Cincinnati) with a decent shot to get into the Dance. That’s 10 good to excellent basketball teams in one conference, which is, as you probably…[Read more]

LOL…and that’s when people find out that there’s more to life than college football. The last thing these guys want is for people to realize that they can say goodbye to college football and life goes on. I used to be a huge MLB/NBA fan but really haven’t watched a game of either since Covid. Who’s to say that in their never ending quest to…[Read more]

There’s 133 FBS teams. The way this is going, you’re likely to have a Super Conference of 40 teams or so. The rest of the teams will be relegated to chump status, which will generate a ton of ill will and deep seated grievances. One of the key rules to be a success in life is don’t piss people off unless you absolutely, positively have to. But…[Read more]

You knew that this was always going to happen once the courts got involved. My only comment is that if Utah and Miami aren’t part of the Big Table I ain’t watching. We’ll see what those earning reports look like after you disenfranchise 2/3 of the football watching public.

Well, I for one care about any game that Utah plays. If the athletic department doesn’t care about games like the Las Vegas or Alamo Bowls, please let me know so that I, and others like me, can stop wasting thousands of dollars of our hard earned cash. Because if you as a football team don’t care about a game you surely can’t expect me as a fan…[Read more]
