Well, I don’t see many Americans fleeing the States for the socialist paradises of Cuba or Venezuela. Isn’t that evidence enough?

Personally, I think that the B1G and SEC need to remember that they’re not the NFL and that college football is based on regionalism. No matter what they think, their product doesn’t really have the same relevance outside their regional footprint that the NFL does. I can only speak for myself, but I haven’t watched any of their regular season…[Read more]

Brother, I don’t know what you studied, or if you studied anything at Utah but I can surely see it wasn’t political science. Your take is about three or four generations obsolete. You think Jeff Bezos is a Republican? How about Mark Zuckerberg? How about Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple? How about doing a search of the billionaires in this country…[Read more]

Yeah, I read that a few days ago. He’s really milked the system in a good way for all it’s worth. He might have a doctorate by the time his eligibility runs out.

I forgot to add “conference” to the away game comment.

They made a point on the gamecast saying that if Utah had just hit 60-70 percent of its free throws, it would have won the Arizona, ASU, and USC games. If that would have happened, the Utes would have been a shoo-in for the tournament.

The Utes finally won both a road AND away game at the same time. It was an ugly game at times but hopefully this victory provides the impetus to finish out the season strong.

Looks like we won this game on a tip in at the buzzer. Utah has to essentially go 4-1 in their last five games, with the loss being to either Coloroado or Oregon, to really be in the conversation for an at large bid. Of course, Utah could go crazy and lose all of their remaining games but win the PAC tournament and still get in.

Is it possible he moved on on his own accord?
Breaking (and exciting) news: Jimmy Soto will join Judge Memorial as the new Director of Advancement on March 1st! A well-known Judge alum, Jimmy comes to us from The University of Utah, and has been involved in higher education fundraising for the past 17 years. Welcome home! pic.twitter.com/uoK4pqckHi

Easily a 20+ point loss. The Bruins are by far the most in form team in the PAC and only their horrible performances earlier in the season against bad teams (leading to an abysmal current NET score) will keep them from making the tournament. Consider this, since getting blown out by Utah, UCLA has won eight of their last nine games (and…[Read more]

I doubt it. I’m currently using my away game silver bullet to go to Orlando contest versus UCF. We’re going to be there almost the entirety of Thanksgiving week so we can do the parks.

I don’t necessarily disagree with you. I am transmitting what knowledgeable people in the business say about Carlson. Sometimes we become enamored of our players without realizing that there are thousands of other players at the HS and college level that are both better and have more potential. Ask yourself this, what has changed from last season…[Read more]

I truly your commentary but there’s absolutely no way that Carlson is a superstar headed to the NBA. He’s not even going to get drafted and, if he wants to play in the NBA, it’ll have to be after he makes his bones overseas or in the G-League. Most scouting reports have him anywhere between the 200 to 300 best prospect of the 2024 draft.

If the rest of the season continues to go downhill and the Utes don’t make a coaching change, the only time the Huntsman will be half full is when we play BYU. And it’ll be full of BYU fans.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Comparison Between K and Smith in the forum Basketball (Men) 9 months, 2 weeks ago
See Tanny, we’re in agreement again. I’ve had season tickets for the last few years but I’m certainly not reupping next season if Smith stays around. As I’ve said, I’ve seen enough to know that Utah, under his leadership, will never come close to even the heights that Coach K took it to. As many have said on this site, it’s hard to see how Utah…[Read more]

Jensen has minimal experience as a head coach and has been out of the college game for well over a decade. Not saying that he wouldn’t be a good fit or excel. Just that, once again, you’re rolling the dice.

Well, if you can’t recruit then you have no business being a head MBB coach at a P4 university.

In Coach K’s third year, the Utes finished 21-12 (9-9 in the PAC) and made the NIT. In Coach Smith’s third year, well, we don’t know where the Utes will finish but they could seriously end the season on a 10 game losing streak, a losing record and no postseason. Personally, and I hate to say it, I’m done with Utah MBB until Smith is gone. I’ve…[Read more]
