This is an excerpt from the arrest warrant:
Bridges — wearing a blue surgical face mask — pointed a handgun at the victim. The victim then pulled McGowan to the ground, and Bridges hit the victim on the head with the gun and kicked him multiple times. Bridges then allegedly threatened to shoot and kill him.</blockquot

Arkansas is routinely a bottom tier team in the SEC. Not entirely sure what the thought process was with regards to this decision. I can’t imagine that whatever NIL package Arkansas put together was significantly greater than what he would have received at Utah. So, you leave the place where you’re the undisputed #1 RB on a winning team to go…[Read more]

I get it. Thanks for the elaboration.

Just keep in mind that Bridges is no high school kid. 2024 will be his sixth college football season and he’ll turn 24 later this year. I just don’t want some one season transfer to disturb the chemistry of the team because he has a chaotic life. We already went through an episode like that during the Thomas years.

Don’t know how you can get past the fact that he threatened to kill someone with a loaded weapon while in the commission of a felony. I wish him well as he gets his life together but not as a part of the Utah football team.

I don’t even get excited when we bring in guys that have been good in other schools. Just because you did it there, doesn’t mean you’ll do it at Utah. Brewer is Exhibit A in this train of thought…he was a four year starter at Baylor and the second leading passer in the school’s history and we saw what happened. Hartman at Notre Dame is…[Read more]

I have season tickets and have watched every Utah game this season. This is the worst we’ve looked by far this season. The team literally shit the bed in the second half. It’s been a while since I’ve seen team miss so many easy shots. Utah has to win games like this if it hopes to make it to the dance. Hard to see them making it with just a…[Read more]

Eagle, threatening to kill someone with a firearm is some serious stuff. Maybe the pros can rationalize having someone like that on a team but Utah?

I have to imagine that all of those offers were for backup positions. There’s no way that Barnes is better than any of the leading QBs already present at those schools.

Thanks. I was going off the CBS Sports website which had ASU as the home team for that game.

ASU will definitely be easier of the two teams. They got blown out by BYU at home and have a couple of other bad losses. That being said, Utah isn’t good enough yet to take any team for granted on the road.

The victim reported Bridges pointed a gun at him and threatened to kill him during the April 15, 2021, incident, police said.
Is this really the type of guy we want to introduce into the locker room? That’s some straight up gangsta shit.

If Utah keeps winning, they won’t stay unranked for long. A couple more victories and their record will be impossible to ignore.

Just a question, has Pittman committed to coming back? He’ll be 24 years old well before the start of the football season. As a guy with limited NFL prospects and given his extensive injury history, you’d wonder how much more gas he’s got left in the tank.

Keita needs to be a legal resident of the USA for at least five years before he can apply for US citizenship. Keep in mind that, in order to receive NIL and be treated like any US born player, all he has to have is legal residency (known colloquially as a “green card”), not citizenship.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Future basketball roster in the forum Basketball (Men) 11 months ago
That would necessitate a massive change to the immigration system which would affect hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people, who have zero ties to the USA other than they go to school here. You couldn’t do a change like that just for athletes, it would essentially affect all foreign students, so it’s never going to happen. According to…[Read more]

Another guy I’m hearing about is OSU WR Silas Bolden. However, the Utes have a lot of competition for his services to include Michigan State, where he would be reunited with Chiles and Smith, among others.

You’re right. Here’s a website that explains it all in depth:
Can International Student-Athletes Benefit from NIL Agreements? In essence, they’re here on a student visa and that explicitly forbids any sort of employment while in the USA.

Evidently you’re not the only one that thinks that Matthews is just a guy. I’ve been keeping up on him seeing where he’s going to land and, so far, all I’ve heard is crickets. Maybe he jumped before knowing where he was going to land?

Would you keep a guy that lied to your face and potentially derailed your season by not being honest about his injury situation? I know I wouldn’t. This is not Whitt’s first rodeo. If he didn’t know the extent of Rising’s injury that’s as bad as thinking he could play this year with a blown-out knee. I’m sure that there’s a lot of smoke and…[Read more]
