I like optimism. But you are assuming that a healthy Rising this season would have produced like he did two years ago and in our limited sample of the first half of Baylor, that wasn’t true. I don’t fault him for not performing while injured against ASU, but he does have a history of having to play hurt even if you don’t count the season ending…[Read more]

I have and hope he succeeds. It would close an inequity in how eligible years are counted that was created through the Covid year and transfer requirements. I’m not sure how many kids it would actually help based on the new rules but the point about Bo Nix and Dillon Gabriel getting 5 full seasons as starting QB’s while he in only able to do 3…[Read more]

It’s not coping. It’s showing all the overtly negative Nellie’s that things can change quickly. I understand why we are here and the mistakes made. I’m a realist but also try to keep some rational optimism.

that’s an interesting coping technique. why even have a season? just let the fans decide the outcome they want and then there’s no reason to play the games.

It’s so true. If Rising (I know I know) stays healthy OR we had brought in a competent veteran QB transfer, very good chance we’d be like 8-1. R E L A X

I’m not putting Retzlaff up for the Heisman. I’m saying that if he has another year of eligibility, I like the parochial school’s QB situation better Utah’s. Sitake has followed the Whitt model to a T. He’s got a strong, opportunistic Defense. His special teams are solid. And he’s got a QB who doesn’t wilt under pressure against the best D he…[Read more]

Let’s not start that again. Utah need to at least finish their humble pie before it’s fans start demanding respect not yet earned.
If it wasn’t obvious before, it should be now. College football is a QB driven game. Iowa State and K State will be bringing back junior QB’s with plenty of starting experience. TCU just needs to figure out their…[Read more]

As did I. Loved every minute of it. But looking back, it was dangerous as hell and wouldn’t want to do so again.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic College Football Playoff Rankings FORGET BYU, Colorado in the forum Football 1 day, 6 hours ago
correct. It’s the 5 highest ranked conference champions that get autobids with the four highest ranked getting byes. That guarantees a G5 but doesn’t limit it to only one.
It’s conceivable that a P4 school could lose 2 of their non-cons like Utah did in 2021, lose two more in conference but still qualify for their CCG. Then that 4 loss team…[Read more]

Glover ran better the last two games, with a lot more purpose. It’s tough to tell though when you only get a couple of carries. I’m not saying he had earned more but short of thinking he should take it to the house every time he touched the ball, what level of improvement do you really expect in season?

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Is it the TURF? in the forum Football 1 day, 16 hours ago
Tony: the turf wasn’t “like” cement. It was cement with barbed wire spray painted on top of it. It didn’t even need to be hot out for you to get heat blisters on your feet. The astroturf was so short and stiff getting tackled on it was roughly equivalent of landing on a wire brush or bed of nails.

I wouldn’t sign up for an account on one of their boards so that i could argue incessantly that it was the correct call. I’m almost completely sure that I wouldn’t. But I’d think about it.,,

It takes at least a generation for all that new diversity to make changes to a culture. And usually those changes involving going to the exact opposite extreme that the OP is pretending to be. Religion needs to be replaced with anti-religion, strong family values need to be replaced hedonism.,, Just once I’d like to see change incorporate the…[Read more]

Portal QB? Didn’t you see Whitt’s presser? Seven will be deciding soon and Whitt is more than willing to ride him again. No need for a portal QB

Maybe it is a combination of the turf and the crap that is Under Armor. You would think there would be someone at the U that would connect the dots but at the same time, not sure how you prove that it is the equipment. If most of the injuries are lower leg, it would seem logical that there would be a connection to the shoes/cleats they are wearing…[Read more]

The best thing about you bringing this to the front every week is that original post gains more upvotes every time. I haven’t see the downvotes moving yet but I’m interested to see if it takes losing 8 straight for up > down or it will get there before.
