He was good last season. Looks lost this season and looks like he’s lost a step and athleticism after the injury.

I wonder if the lacerated kidney he suffered impacted him mentally. I’m not saying he all of a sudden got the yips or anything, but to go from being thought of that highly to not being QB2 over a true freshman…. Then not transferring out…. Makes you wonder.

  • Yeah, I remember reading all the time how difficult his offense was to grasp and that being the reason that certain players weren’t seeing the field etc. I guess that’s fine if you’re one of the best offenses in college football year in and out, but it just seemed kind of ridiculous to me. If guys are good enough to play but it takes them a…[Read more]

I think it was honestly just a recruiting miss. It happens. We’re known for it honestly with Tuttle and Costelli being in our recent past along with Nate Johnson from that same Rose class. I’m a real believer Isaac will continue to improve though.

  • I really have no opinion on what will or will not happen. What I do wonder is if Ryan Smith keeps putting his finger on the scales, will Utah fans decide to stop supporting the Jazz and the new hockey team? To be clear, I’m not advocating for that. I am just wondering about other fans opinions on the matter. I read an article directly…[Read more]

If Whitt’s staying, it will be his decision and his decision alone whether we like that or not. Morgan might be able to have some advice and input, but it’s still Whitt’s show.

  • There is, but how much money do you actually need? Maybe Saban is itching to coach again, but it will be the same issues he faced at Bama in terms of dealing with NIL etc. If I had to guess, he’ll remain doing what he is now while working in an advisory role for Bama. He’ll get his statue and enjoy the remaining years he has left.

  • The biggest arguments for Whitt starting are the contract, and he doesn’t want to go out on what has been a completely disappointing season. The argument for retirement is that he will still get paid in an advisory role, he already has plenty of money, and he wants to spend more time with his family without the stresses(especially in the NIL…[Read more]

  • That’s a very good point.

  • I don’t have the expertise to answer your question, Tony. I will say that somebody brought up a very interesting point. Why is Lander seemingly less explosive athletically? Why does it seem he’s a step slower? Is it because the injury? Or could it be they bulked him up too much? I really wonder on this. Are we changing players bodies so…[Read more]

  • TruckStopTerrors replied to the topic Booooooo in the forum Football 2 months ago

I will boo only if it’s clear the effort isn’t being put forth. As for coaches being booed, I think that’s fair game. You’re a big boy being paid a lot of money. If you’re not doing a good job, I’m sorry, that’s how things work. Many season ticket holders and or people that just bought tickets saw a piss poor performance on the field this…[Read more]

  • I will personally be happy if he doesn’t retire. I don’t think the game has passed him by. I hope the NIL money freed up through Cam and Kuithe is again put forth by those that contributed and we’re able to bring in more talent.

  • To be fair though, Kuithe even talked about how TCU seemed to know the exact play they were running and the routes that would be run in his post-game. The blitz got through just about every time making Isaac run for his life. I don’t think Isaac played great, but the offensive playcalling was also shit and has been this season in general.

  • I believe Whit came to Ludwig and told him I’m going to have to demote you. Ludwig understood the offense has been trash and his playcalling along with it and stepped down. Whit likely did the classy thing by not yelling everybody he had approached him to be demoted. It makes Ludwig look better in the process etc. So yeah, I suspect this…[Read more]

  • Ludwig was always a mediocre OC that of course was elevated by the talent on his roster. Not to say other OCs aren’t elevated as well. Ludwig was just predictable and unimaginative. I wish him well in his next stop or life in general, but this was long overdue.

  • I’m in agreement with others. I think Whit probably approached Ludwig and told him he was denoting him. Either Ludwig offered his resignation as a way to tell Whit he knew he hadn’t produced at the level he should have, or it got contentious and he offered his resignation which Whit accepted. Either way, I am happy with the outcome. Maybe…[Read more]

I honestly think the LB play is down beyond not having Reid. Lander for whatever reason(injury from last season, bulked up too) much seems a bit slower and less athletic. He’s also made some really bad reads and lost contain.

  • TruckStopTerrors replied to the topic You Know…. in the forum Football 2 months ago

I think we all will honestly. I don’t think it’s going to happen though.

  • Everybody needs to understand that this is not the new permanent OC. Just a stopgap. So what he did at previous stops shouldn’t be a huge deal. The rest of this season is about trying to get bowl eligible and developing Isaac.

One of my counters to this would be that yes, it’s a small sample as of now, but I do feel we were playing better offenses in the PAC. So many guys have been open or the secondary has made a mistake. We don’t have a lockdown corner and our safety play obviously has taken a huge downgrade along with linebacker play. Maybe it’s just the eye…[Read more]
