I’m taking the same stance. We get this song and dance every season how this is the best fill in the blank we’ve ever had. Blah blah blah. Only to find it underperforms in game.

TruckStopTerrors replied to the topic Assuming Deion takes an NFL job . . . in the forum Football 2 months, 2 weeks ago
If he leaves, they’re fucked. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. They are totally fucked and headed back to being the dumpster fire they were for years. Is there anybody out there with the same appeal especially considering recruiting? No. That’s why it’s rumored they offered him a huge extension. Here’s hoping he leaves.

I doubt it. Jones continues to try to prove to everybody that he is a good GM. We all know he’s not. I don’t think he will go after Prime with all the scrutiny around his decision making. Here’s to hoping I’m wrong and Jerry goes for it.

That doesn’t surprise me. Regardless of that though, his public persona annoys me. He, like others got his panties in a twist when Utah fans weren’t completely elated to join the Big 12.

Toll is a clown. Every opportunity he gets, he talks shit about Utah. To each their own, I avoid his content like a plague. I do hope this is true though. Would love to see Colorado go back to being a dumpster fire.

Agreed. Doing nothing gives us no actual chance at saving college athletics. So while whatever they propose can never be perfect, I don’t think it can get any worse than the current state of college athletics.

I recall when the hire was made thinking that he better be able to coach up the talent he gets, because he’s not a good recruiter. Well, he himself hasn’t been a good recruiter during his tenure, and to me, there’s no proof he’s coached up the talent he has gotten. Do they fire him after the season or do they wait for one more miserable season…[Read more]

You forgot to read where it said, a bipartisan group of Senators. Honestly, who cares who spearheads the push to do something to change what is now the wild west that is college athletics. My interest each day is dwindling with all the pay to play and portal moves.

Anybody over Becker is an improvement in my eyes. I’ll always be thankful for the big fg against USC, but he was beyond unreliable this past season.

TruckStopTerrors replied to the topic Fellow opinions on booing in the NIL Mercenary Era? in the forum Football 3 months ago
I’m fine with booing. If players and coaches are underperforming to a degree where you feel the effort isn’t there, I am perfectly fine if people choose to boo. Especially since these players a semi-professionals now. You’re paying for a product at the end of the day. If that product is substandard, you are entitled to voice your displeasure.

Until some kind of rules are put in place, I don’t know why I, as a fan, should really take much of an interest any longer. I hate to be that guy, but the roster shuffling along with the greed is really killing my interest.

You could be a Utah lifer as a fan and still be trolling. Regardless, there’s nothing to add to this. Have a good night.

Is this a troll attempt? It seems like you’re coming at this in bad faith. You know exactly what I mean. If you don’t, you can take the night and figure it out.

Why? Because you believe I should. Here’s one example to satiate your appetite. Standing in the church. We deem these actions as a negative representation of our faith, and if you continue to engage in these actions, there will be repercussions. Seriously, was it that hard to actually come up with that yourself?

The argument I made is they shouldn’t allow it. I’m sure there are ways they could enforce it, but again, it’s not my job to provide you with examples on that. If or Notre Dame wanted to stop such things, they most certainly could.

I’ve made my point quite clear. You can go re-read it, or look for similar threads regarding this very subject to get it. At this point, it’s just talking in circles.

I’m actually not though. I’m saying that a religious institution’s primary functions are to obviously educate, but to also spread the faith. This just looks completely bad for a religious institution regardless of whether they are using private donors providing the funds or not, for the reasons I pointed out.
You can hold them to the standard…[Read more]

Huge difference, we’re talking about a religious institution with a stated goal of promoting the faith and of course education. I hold a school like Notre Dame to the exact same standard.
You asked, what is a worthy cause? Can we both agree paying a guy to play basketball 7 million for 1 year is not a worthy cause? If we can’t, this…[Read more]
