Gotta disagree with this. It’s a learning institution pushing a particular religion. Whether it’s the university itself or private donors, you can certainly make the argument that the church could not allow such practices and instead encourage those donors to donate that money to more worthy causes. You can make the argument can walk and chew…[Read more]

2/5 stars. That’s not to say he won’t be a good hire. It’s my excitement level knowing that this was our 3rd choice, and we’re again dipping into the local pool of coaching.

I tend to agree. Nobody should really be above scrutiny after the season we just had.

TruckStopTerrors replied to the topic Injuries, Injuries, Injuries in the forum Football 4 months ago
It would not surprise me. Somebody on here posted a few weeks back when the injury subject came up that a former player(I don’t recall which off the top of my head) said that he believed the players on the team weren’t doing things like they had done in the past like yoga to improve their flexibility and prevent injury. If true, that’s…[Read more]

TruckStopTerrors replied to the topic Thoughts on NIL from a BYU fan (I come in peace) in the forum Football 5 months ago
Nobody is arguing they shouldn’t be able to do what they want with their money. Again, it’s a bad look whether it’s BYU or one of their boosters paying big money for a player of any sport. Because as an outsider looking in at the faith you’re going to be cynical. Regardless if the institution is putting up the money or not, there’s a…[Read more]

TruckStopTerrors replied to the topic Thoughts on NIL from a BYU fan (I come in peace) in the forum Football 5 months ago
I’ll just post something similar to what I did in the other thread discussing it. Let me preface this by saying I’m not LDS.
I think BYU is playing by the rules that have been laid out by the NCAA. You have no arguments from me there. I wish we had a Ryan Smith bankrolling a lot of these big dollar moves, or a Phil Knight.
The issue…[Read more]

Nothing wrong in context to the rules that have been laid out? Certainly. Is it morally a good look for them or fans that support them to be going out spending millions of dollars to essentially buy players etc when they’re a religious institution. This is where you can kind of understand the negativity surrounding it. 4.5 million could be…[Read more]

He was good last season. Looks lost this season and looks like he’s lost a step and athleticism after the injury.

I wonder if the lacerated kidney he suffered impacted him mentally. I’m not saying he all of a sudden got the yips or anything, but to go from being thought of that highly to not being QB2 over a true freshman…. Then not transferring out…. Makes you wonder.

TruckStopTerrors replied to the topic Difficult Offense? in the forum Football 5 months, 1 week ago
Yeah, I remember reading all the time how difficult his offense was to grasp and that being the reason that certain players weren’t seeing the field etc. I guess that’s fine if you’re one of the best offenses in college football year in and out, but it just seemed kind of ridiculous to me. If guys are good enough to play but it takes them a…[Read more]

I think it was honestly just a recruiting miss. It happens. We’re known for it honestly with Tuttle and Costelli being in our recent past along with Nate Johnson from that same Rose class. I’m a real believer Isaac will continue to improve though.

I really have no opinion on what will or will not happen. What I do wonder is if Ryan Smith keeps putting his finger on the scales, will Utah fans decide to stop supporting the Jazz and the new hockey team? To be clear, I’m not advocating for that. I am just wondering about other fans opinions on the matter. I read an article directly…[Read more]

If Whitt’s staying, it will be his decision and his decision alone whether we like that or not. Morgan might be able to have some advice and input, but it’s still Whitt’s show.

TruckStopTerrors replied to the topic Why Lud Gone Means Whitt Gonna Be Gone in the forum Football 5 months, 1 week ago
There is, but how much money do you actually need? Maybe Saban is itching to coach again, but it will be the same issues he faced at Bama in terms of dealing with NIL etc. If I had to guess, he’ll remain doing what he is now while working in an advisory role for Bama. He’ll get his statue and enjoy the remaining years he has left.

TruckStopTerrors replied to the topic Why Lud Gone Means Whitt Gonna Be Gone in the forum Football 5 months, 1 week ago
The biggest arguments for Whitt starting are the contract, and he doesn’t want to go out on what has been a completely disappointing season. The argument for retirement is that he will still get paid in an advisory role, he already has plenty of money, and he wants to spend more time with his family without the stresses(especially in the NIL…[Read more]
