Tonight it clearly wasn’t the right statistical play. It didn’t burn the clock like it’s meant to and it actually put them in a position to potentially tie the game. I get that is ready to Monday morning QB, but I’m sure plenty of fans were screaming at their TV or at the coaches of they attended when it was happening.

It’s a nice sentiment, I don’t agree that they “gave” the game away like he’s kind of saying. If anything, with our turnovers, a dumb penalty, prevent defense, and of course some special teams issues, we nearly gave the game away.

Agreed. It’s meant to eat clock. It didn’t do that at all and had the potential of costing us the game. Absolutely ridiculous.

That was just troll talk. But yeah, the conference is in for a rude awakening of they believe that.

I have no problem being the villain of the conference, but there’s no reason to rub their face in the loss here. They have good and passionate fans. That being said, the Utah doubters in the conference can suck it.

Agreed. Happy for the win, not happy with those last 2 OKS drives. They scored so quickly.

Agreed. A FG there would’ve been huge.

Agreed. Certainly missed some opportunities, but their D is taking a beating in that heat too. Hopefully, it pays off big in the 2nd half.

And 3rd and 6 has a better conversion rate than 3rd and 7. The particular play In pointing out was a no gain play and it was very predictable. I’m not saying Ludwig is awful. We went through so many OCs over the Whit era that I think we tend to believe Ludwig is one of the better in college football. I am not a believer he is.

2nd and 10 run up the gut out of the shotgun… I just don’t like his playcalling sometimes. It’s predictable. If there’s anything I look forward to when Morgan eventually takes over it’s hopefully having his own offensive philosophy and a new OC. JMO.

Love to see it. Wish we didn’t have so many damn Debbie Downers in the fanbase sometimes though. There were 5 drops or so in that 1st quarter along with some really shitty playcalling from Ludwig, and we had people blaming him. He’s clearly the best option we have at backup QB. He’s an 18 year old true freshman that led us to a win and…[Read more]

Isaac throwing the ball to receivers quite often yesterday certainly didn’t hurt our chances. I still think it’s going to be tough going up against USC, but we’ll see.

TruckStopTerrors replied to the topic What I liked about Wilson's play yesterday in the forum Football 3 months, 1 week ago
Absolutely agree. It’s something I pointed out to my brother when watching the game. You could see him going through his progressions and not just keying in on one receiver like most young QBs do. There was a lot to like in what we saw yesterday.

He seemed like a good dude, but both he and Costelli seem like athlete projects that teams thought they could mold into QBs. Utah specifically in both cases. I wish him well, but last season ended any debate I had whether his future was at QB. It’s clearly not. He would’ve been wise to hang around here and switch positions.

TruckStopTerrors replied to the topic Isaac Wilson should get game ball for this one. in the forum Football 3 months, 1 week ago
The first td throw to Money was indicative of the type of QB he could be. You could see his head move looking at each initial read gauging who might be open and found Parks on the 3rd, and then made the throw. He wasn’t dialed in on just one target like most young QBs are. It was a very solid game for him.

Overall, not a good showing today by the defense.

TruckStopTerrors replied to the topic Wilson overgripping? in the forum Football 3 months, 1 week ago
We have different definitions of potential picks. It was a good defensive play, but the likelihood of that ending up in a pick? I mean, how many of those type of things does Cam face or other QBs? It seems nitpicky to me.

Also the Kuithe example you’re using which was in the endzone, was batted down on a good play. Ball could’ve or should’ve been thrown harder, but I think he was over-gripping it. Still, a pbu isn’t what I would say is a great potential pick. Difference of opinion.
