I’m impressed with ND head coach Marcus Freeman. He’s only 39 years old but appears to have “it”. I’ve been impressed with his intelligence and leadership of the team from the limited time I’ve watched ND this year. He seems like a very likable guy.

This is going to sound crazy but it’s true: My wife of 27 years filed for divorce earlier this year due partially to my support of U athletics and my active participation in NIL deals. Absolutely shocked me beyond words. I’ve moved to southern Utah for a new start, but will be a Ute ‘til I die! I’ve looked forward to the discussions on this app every morning and every evening on this new journey. Thank you all! I don’t know many of you in person but I consider all of you honorary or chosen family right now. I hope everyone has wonderful holidays with those they love. Go Utes!

Not trying to hijack the thread…Excellent summary and I agree with your assessment, but a Star for referencing Chop Suey Luey’s. I used to love getting hot and sour soup and fried wontons between classes on cold winter days in the ‘90’s. I also loved the short lived China Star that Gastronomy started for a few years.

Side note on Divac: I worked for the Jazz in the mid ‘90’s. Divac used to smoke cigarettes at halftime in the Delta Center. A unique player!

I’ve softened my bitterness on how he left, but I’ve kept my moniker since December 2004. We knew him directly because our kids were friends. The “lying” part involves a series of statements and commitments he made regarding “if you do X, then I guarantee I’ll remain at Utah.” Those donors immediately stepped up to hold up their end of the deal, but he didn’t honor his end of the deal (we’re talking multimillion dollar commitments at the time which was huge back then). Plus, there were a slew of promotional sponsor events he signed up for and then completely abandoned them without a single word of apology. Over time I’m not as bitter and I’d welcome his involvement back on campus but his explicit statements of commitment created craters of resentment that were unnecessary if he would have been a little bit better at communicating.
