I was doing some stat searching as well.

      Total offense ranks as OC:
      2013 Tennessee: 95th
      2019 Boston College: 47th, Utah 48th
      2020 Northwestern: 93rd, Utah 52nd
      2021 Northwestern: 116th, Utah 40th
      2022 Northwestern: 107th, Utah 17th
      2023 Northwestern: 124th, Utah 94th

Our defense is much better which I believe helps our offense with possessions, scoring chances, field position. Interestingly, Northwestern’s recruiting classes from 2020-2023 are ~48th in the nation. We are ~30th.

North Texas, JMU, Texas St. are offenses that I’ve enjoyed watching this season.

Coach Kjar is someone I would like to add to the staff in some capacity. Plenty of high school coaches have made the jump on offense and have done well. I get that some have done poorly, but its a chance I would take.

Im sure it’s early and the offense isn’t utilizing the entire playbook yet, Rising is rusty, but our offense did not move the ball well today. We got a special teams touchdown and a sack fumble that set us up for an easy touchdown (14 points). When Rising was in, we had 3 punts, 1 touchdown, 2 FG tries (1 miss). Issac with conservative offense, 3 punts, 1 missed field goal. Although the QB play appeared DRASTICALLY different, offensive results weren’t that different. Cam had two 50+ yard drives whereas Issac had one.

Credit to Baylor for locking up Dorian Singer and Brant Kuithe, but we have too much talent to be this offensively unproductive.

Does a guy like Munir McClain move back over to TE to fill the void with King? I feel like he would provide a lot of mismatches and has put up good numbers in limited roles this season. I don’t mind Barton playing TE, since I trust Damuni and Reid at LB, but playing USC is different than Cal.

TE will be thin, but I think McClain could fill in nicely. Also, Sidney Mbanasor should look into switching to TE.

For me, Brennan Armstrong should get some consideration for QB if Rising leaves. Having a deep ball thrower would open up the playbook. He’s a capable runner, accurate, and good leader.

Utah needs to preserve his redshirt no matter what. Also, I have no issue with JJ taking wildcat snaps. He has confidence in himself and his ability that was lacking earlier in the season.  He’s not as fast as Johnson, but he is a lot bigger and can probably provide a 15-20 yard pass or run as QB if needed.

Whitt might be inferring Walker Lyons and Hunter Clegg are available since Shaw resigned

Yeah, He’s done. I wish him the best at the next level. Last year was special to watch and he has a great story. I think he’ll get drafted late(7th) or be a priority UDFA. He has the potential to be a great power back if he can fix the fumbling issues and improve his vision.

He is a USFL and XFL candidate if it doesn’t work out. He reminds me a Lendale White from USC.
