All is not well. Mistakes were made, there were poor decisions made. But there were also a lot of injuries, including to all but one QB.

Promising #2 status and mop up duty as long at #1 stays healthy is one thing. The coaches should not have felt obligated to make #2 the interim #1 after the starter was injured, and then #1 after the starter had his season ending injury. In hindsight, certainly, making Wilson the #1 QB seems rather foolish.

Brown at NC:

2022: 9-5, lost to Clemson in ACC championship game
2023: 8-5
2024: 6-5 with 1 game to play. NC lost four in a row in mid-season.

I recall TDS playing a 4th string QB in a bowl game in 1992.

I read a story once about a U.S. Navy officer reporting aboard a ship as the new executive officer. The captain told him “One of the two of us is going to be an S.O.B., and its not going to be me.”

As the captain of the ship that is Utah football, Whit is responsible for everything. Even if the mistake is made by an assistant coach, well, who hired that assistant? Kyle. The buck stops with him.

I’d like to give Whitt the opportunity to demonstrate that this year was an aberration. If he cannot get bowl eligible next year, then this year was not an aberration.
