Interested to see how Furey, Reynolds, Reid, and Josh Calvert develop. Have to think 1-2 of these guys enter the portal with the LB talent coming in. Hopefully not.

IMO, biggest concern is starters and depth at CB and NB. SS is solid (Aware injuries decimated the DB group) Bernard playing both ways in Utah’s biggest game tells me there is a…[Read more]

  • Man, crazy times coming to college football. Don’t blame any of them one bit. Window of opportunity is very small and does not last long with all the risk. The way it’s playing out this is not going to end well for college football.

  • Agree. Punt team and Kick-off team are a mess. From a time management perspective, the punter miss contributed to tOSU having the ball for a quick score. The missed pick in the end zone by Reid was another one of those game changing plays. 4th down TD on the fake slant go route for the TD was a huge play for tOSU. gave up momentum in key…[Read more]

  • I was able to hit the RB with my Honey…wow! Other than the loss, the trip was amazing. Beautiful weather, amazing setting, Ute fans everywhere. Walked up the hill to the Rose Parade with a couple of long time tOSU fans who’ve been to a bunch of these games. They were very complimentary of Utah and happy to see a new up and coming team growing…[Read more]

  • So this kid is handed a bag of cash by the highest bidder. At some point the NFL is going to say bye bye to the NCAA and lift the must be out of high school to play in the NFL agreement. Not sure how the three year rule works, but I’m guessing it came from the NCAA to preserve the revenue stream colleges rely on from football keeping kids in…[Read more]

  • Last minute rally, going to the game. I persume plenty of Ute tailgating going on before the game. Plan is to get to the stadium early and take it all in. Any and all advice appreciated…Go Utes!

  • Reid transferring in if he does is great for depth and rotation support at DE for Carlton, Ellis/LB, Suguturaga, Wegis and other young players learning the position. Man, it is crazy how young and talented Utah is at all positions. Partly a Covid year thing, but over the past 2-3 years Utah has busted the reload vs retrain bubble. Losing Tafua,…[Read more]

  • I find it odd some of the Utah players announcing now before the Rose Bowl game decision to enter the NFL draft. Devon Lloyd makes sense we all new that was his plan all along.
Fotheringham, Sewell, Covey, and Pledger are very likely not getting drafted. Are they announcing now to raise attention to their play in the Rose Bowl? I am sure there’s…[Read more]

  • Good point. Win-win situation either way. TH has played himself into a well deserved large pay day setting him up for life. Big scheme, all worked out well for him. Landed on a NFL team giving him the training he did not get at Utah. Remarkable how good he was considering the shit show the Utah offense was before Ludwig arrived. Ludwig coached TH…[Read more]

  • This is really the first breakthrough year for Utah on the national level. 2019 some regard as one of Utah’s best years was a local success, but somewhat of failure from a national perspective the way Oregon and Texas blew them out.

Comparing Oregon as a reference closest to Utah in the same conference and relatively new to the national spotlight…[Read more]

  • A lot more to it of course. Wilcox makes plenty of cash and works under relatively realistic expectations from Cal leadership. Oregon job is essentially signing up to be a Nike employee. That entire scene as beautiful and financially fruitful as it all looks on the surface has to get stressfully old. No coincidence coaches turnover at Oregon every…[Read more]

  • Guessing we’ll see more of the TEs split out as well. The Morris kid after Utah’s boot camp adding weight and learning the Utah way with his size and agility is going to be a dangerous hybrid WR/TE. KW has established the sixth sense finding these hungry, committed, hard working kids all in to the process.

  • Trailgoat replied to the topic tOSU are zoobs…. in the forum Football 3 years, 2 months ago

Yup, and Herbstreit will be pushing the same narrative if the Utes take care of business. tOSU and their fan base honestly believe they can just show up and beat the lesser Utah program in their minds and win big.

  • No question, OSU is the real deal. Question is, will OSU be motivated to play to their potential a month after falling short of the NC goal? OSU needs to bring their “A” game as well to beat Utah. Next couple weeks will be interesting to see if any of the OSU players opt out of the game. Go Utes!

  • Man, some of the OSU fan base, their media reps, and the players throwing a pitty party for not going to the natty this year, crying about the boobie prize Rose Bowl is pathetic. These people are extremely delusional to think OSU is going to win a NC every year. Thanks to Urban Meyer THE pity party U has one NC victory in the past 20 years. The…[Read more]

  • Amazing how far Utah has excelled in many sports since joining the P12. Some areas to assist with getting to the next level for football to compete on the national stage. Bottom line, just win baby! This year was a huge step for Utah.

Agree on Scalley, and buck up for the other coaches. I presume Shah, Ludwig, and Powell, McDonald are in for the…[Read more]

  • Utes get time to enjoy the win and three weeks to prepare for Ohio State. This is always a fun time of year to see all the coaching changes, signing period, transfers and the holiday bowl game fun. Next few weeks will be intersting to see what last minute recruits Utes sign, who on the team decides to play another year, do any Utah coordinators…[Read more]

  • “THE” Ohio State fans have the rare, painful occasion tonight they are forced to be Michigan fans to get to the Rose Bowl.

  • Trailgoat started the topic Rising in the forum Football 3 years, 2 months ago

Rising knew last night he needed to step up and set the leadership tone for his team. Rising’s numbers may not have jumped off the stat sheet, but his team leadership, toughness, IT factor to make big plays in key situations are what makes this team roll. The players see the amount of effort he puts into the game while calmly leading his team with…[Read more]

  • 2019 Oregon came into the CCG with a chip on their shoulder with all the Oline and Dline toughness hype Utah was getting. Utes did not plan or adjust to Herbert running the ball and Oregon pushed Utah around in the trenches. KW has slayed the USC road win dragon and the WTF loss that killed their CCG position.

Agree on the point made about not…[Read more]
