  • Hard to put much energy into the outcome of these holiday bowl games outside of the Rose Bowl and play-off. Seems Utahs pinnacle of success has been winning the P12 South. Glad the players were able to spend 4-5 days together having fun outside of football. TH’s comment summed it up, good for the kids that took a leap and chose Utah. On to next…[Read more]

Agree. ASU is a tough team to cheer for in football or BB. P12 reputation has been having a slow death for the past 10 years. USC and UCLA desperately hang on to their storied past success in football-basketball. A generation of fans is passing by since USCs ten year 1996-2006ish era of football supremacy. Utah’s beat down from Oregon was a…[Read more]

  • The past 10 years of poor leadership on offense has been a huge barrier to recruiting. DEs short stent as a consultant and Ludwig’s coming back home to retire is why Utah has had recent offensive success. Utah’s marginal recruiting in certain position groups, WR, OL, LB, QB (improving with Ludwig) is a notable reason for the talent gap and lack of…[Read more]

  • I know it’s Ryan Leaf and he does a great job in the booth. Man, maybe it’s my shitty TV, but he sounds a lot like Will Ferrel tonight. Could be the Bourbon…Go Utes!

  • Agree, 8-4 at the minimum. With Ludwig in the program for a year and the new QBs, Utah will be solid on offense. Fans may be surprised how good the new QBs will be. Oline, will be better. Covey and Thompson will be back. IMO, Ennis, Dixon, Vele, and the new WRs will be getting more passes. Huntley’s numbers are amazing. Overall, the pass game will…[Read more]

  • Good team next year. Utah defense going in with a lot of players to replace seems always seems to get it done every year. Utah defense having players to replace will still be rock solid. Upside is offense is getting better not relying on defense to hang on through a bunch of 3 and outs. This year showed a strong offense makes the defense so much…[Read more]

  • Portal or grad transfer is a good way to go for QBs. Only one position to fight for and high level D1 QBs don’t like to sit and watch from the sidelines. Look at the USC QB situation. I would say next year will be the year for heavy QB recruiting. Probably why Powell flipped after signing Bentley and Rising’s upside. Seems Ludwig wants big pro…[Read more]

  • Why not put an athlete back there to keep teams at the LOS longer in some situations with the option to legitmately run or throw a pass? Have to believe Ritchie would be no worse punting than what we saw this year. Special teams needs a bit of an overhaul next year.

  • Agree. A bunch of Frosh and some Sophs beating Kentucky is something Utah would never have been able to do in the past. There is a lot of talent on this team. No problem with the slow game if executed well. Coach K controlled the tempo. Props to Calipari traveling out West to play Utah. It’s good for the game and his team will be better for it.…[Read more]

  • That’s how a team punches a ticket to the March dance before conference play starts. It is fascinating how one guy with a ton of money can single handedly build a college empire. I still think the filming of Animal house put UO on the map haha:)! The school location is wet 150 days of the year and UO is academically at best very meh. I get the…[Read more]

  • No disrespect. Make Ehlinger pass? His rushing yards are part of the package not the focus of the offense. The dude has close to 3500 passing yards and 29 passing TDs this season. Problem is losing JJ and JB now opens the other half of the field. Hubert out does not help. JJ pretty much locked up one side of the field shrinking the area of pass…[Read more]

  • IMO, going to the Rose Bowl is better. LSU would of torched Oregon. I don’t recall off the top of my head who the 4th CFP teams have been over the past few years.

The P12 football operations, schedule, structure, TV set-up, officials is beyond poorly managed. P12 is it’s own worst enemy. The way it’s run is a huge barrier for program success.…[Read more]

  • I have no problem with it. These guys with talent have a small window of opportunity to make it and every draft position is a huge difference in payout. Injuries at this point could be a virtual career killer. Not fair to question any of these guys for not being team players if they decide to not play.

The, I don’t like the school I signed up…[Read more]

May want to take a look at Wisconsin’s commitment list before you make these claims. Per 24/7, UW has the 26th ranked recruitment class. Several four star recruits committed. In the hunt for a couple other top ranked players. Utah is no where near UWs recruiting at this point.

  • Trailgoat replied to the topic Cotton Bowl Chances in the forum Football 4 years, 10 months ago

Cotton Bowl is a no win situation for P5 teams. Better off playing in the Holiday bowl especially if JJ, Moss, Anae, and other NFL bound Senior players pass or play sparingly in the bowl game. Already down to the 3rd string Safety.

  • The missed 4th down on the first drive was a killer. I am perplexed why so many team do not use the QB sneak especially now that players can push from behind.

  • Looking back to their history Oregon’s path is similar to Utahs with of course being in the P12. One constant back to the Belotti years is they have consistantly recruited top-level 4-5 star level players across the board. They have a clear defined brand and I get the Phil Knight money tree. Eugene is a cloudy moss pit so it’s far from an…[Read more]

  • Trailgoat replied to the topic Ute Pride in the forum Football 4 years, 10 months ago

Unfortunately I think Utes might be headed to the Vegas bowl.

  • Rep the P12 in the Rose Bowl. Great season for Utes. Better team won tonight.

  • Or, a not that motivated after the ASU loss. Coaching from the couch….Utes need the ASU/OS version of Oregon to show up. If the Utes are as good as advertised and are at the level of competing with the top 4 teams, this game needs to be a two score win. Oline looked awful with run blocking last week. My only concern is they get pushed around…[Read more]
