Looking forward to a fresh start with MS allowing a new OC to do his job not interfering with recruiting and developing QBs fitting a new offensive system. Unfortunately, KW for all his accomplishments ends his career with the same recurring issues he could never really escape. Beginning to think Ludwig may be the smartest one of all to flee the…[Read more]

  • Agree UD. Huge Bernard fan. He’s been put in a crappy situation and keeps grinding. Bernard’s role at Utah has mostly been the 2 or 3 back in the rotation adding more of a pass threat with solid run capability. Solid blitz pick up blocker in pass pro. Every down bell cow RB carrying the ball 20+ times a game is not his jam. Problem compounded by…[Read more]

The defense is doing very well considering the complete lack of production from the offense and the amount of time they spend on the field following 3 and outs on almost every offensive possession.

For better or worse, 2 week selling window with a bye week is only going to make it worse. Not sure anything at this point changes the direction of a broken locker room. I’m sure we’ll hear more from players when the season ends after the UCF game.

  • Wait…UNLV runs RPO where the QB room comprises QBs with the same profile that actually run the ball on the right read. The UNLV back-up QB steps right in. Everyone knows 5’10” 190lb Wilson is not running the ball more than 1-2 times a game, especially with no backup QB worthy of playing per KW. The Ludwig “complex” offense excuse is a cop out.…[Read more]

Maybe BR is content with getting a paid for education, some team NIl cash, drive around in a free truck, enjoying the school and team/friends/college life. Not a bad gig. Crazy what college football has turned into.

  • Agree on the OC point. Doesn’t make sense for KW to hire the OC if Morgan is taking over in the next 1-2 years. Naming a coach in waiting secures continuity with Morgan and signals KW has his eye on the door. I’m sure there’s perk overlap with the consultant gig in his contract. Good hell, KW makes enough $ for 10 people to comfortably retir…[Read more]

Yeah, filled the golf bags with Uinta Cuthroat and played on. Good times.

Most fans at all football IQ levels can tell the difference between good and bad football. Attended the TCU game after a couple of years mostly catching Utah on the road in Cali or Wash. The crowd was into the game for most of the first half. MUSS has grown a lot since the last RES game I attended. Great day in SLC. I thought it was a solid fan…[Read more]

and ranked #10 in the AP poll. Attended the game Saturday on short notice. On a positive note, I was impressed with the fan turnout and how the MUSS has grown since I last attended a game. A lot of fans peeled out at half time tired of watching late night very bad football, can’t argue with that. Had flash backs to my first Utah football game…[Read more]

  • Solid post. Watch the last three offensive series prior to Gatorgate. Cam looked very rusty after Baylor made some adjustments on D and CR spinned through Ludwig’s 10-12 scripted play series. Once CR got into Ludwig calling plays from the box, the offense slowed down. Pre 2024 CR runs right around the Baylor DE on the injury play. High e…[Read more]

  • Uggh, it’s becoming clear Utah may not be a very good football team.

  • Trailgoat replied to the topic Aaron Dunn Decommits in the forum Football 1 month ago

Yup. Utah at the moment is a top level player developer for the blue crew. Enjoying the rest of the season. It’s been a good run.

  • Agree, use the $ to go get players, starting with a RB. Time to shed the what could of been Cam days of past and establish stability in the offense. Utah can’t sustain super conference market value with more of what’s going on now and last season. Guessing KW and Lud retire this year or do a transitional year at most. Looking fwd to watching IW play.

  • Trailgoat replied to the topic Ludwig in the forum Football 1 month ago

No way MS keeps Ludwig. The culture is set, time for a new generation OC. Wilson has an excellent arm and needs an innovative throwing mind to use it. The Utah OC job is going to be a coveted opportunity. Plenty of coaches see how good an offense can be with a MS run defense, thats not going away.

  • Trailgoat replied to the topic Dumb question in the forum Football 1 month, 1 week ago

A couple dumber questions :). With half the season remaining, Why is it so hard for Utah to move on from Cam Rising and is KW losing the trust and confidence of his players, maybe even some coaches? CR has been the best unavailable QB option to win football games for Utah over the past two years. The healthy (if possible) 2024 version of CR is not…[Read more]

  • IMO, this is KWs last season. At 65, time to ski, play golf, hangout with family. Sometimes at the end of your career it’s not in the cards to achieve all your high level immediate high level goals. Celebrate the collective achievements over the years and pass the torch. KW staying on as a consultant he can represent Utah’s work towards Super Lea…[Read more]

  • Not living in SLC, I gauge Kool-aid consumption based on communication from the coaches/prayers through various media outlets, social media, this site etc before the season. The main Kool-aid message was anything less than getting to the B12 Championship game was a failed season. Roughly half way through the season the goal is pretty much…[Read more]

  • KW has run his course as HC. KW leaves when he wants to so any firing talk is silly. Hopefully he has sensible people in his camp advising him to hand off the program to a new generation of coaches before it gets worse. A 7 year age/experience gap between the starting and backup QB speaks volumes, along with many other issues discussed on the…[Read more]
