Trailgoat replied to the topic fan assumptions in the forum Football 2 months, 2 weeks ago
Most fans at all football IQ levels can tell the difference between good and bad football. Attended the TCU game after a couple of years mostly catching Utah on the road in Cali or Wash. The crowd was into the game for most of the first half. MUSS has grown a lot since the last RES game I attended. Great day in SLC. I thought it was a solid fan…[Read more]

and ranked #10 in the AP poll. Attended the game Saturday on short notice. On a positive note, I was impressed with the fan turnout and how the MUSS has grown since I last attended a game. A lot of fans peeled out at half time tired of watching late night very bad football, can’t argue with that. Had flash backs to my first Utah football game…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic Whitt and Cam opinings and observations in the forum Football 2 months, 2 weeks ago
Solid post. Watch the last three offensive series prior to Gatorgate. Cam looked very rusty after Baylor made some adjustments on D and CR spinned through Ludwig’s 10-12 scripted play series. Once CR got into Ludwig calling plays from the box, the offense slowed down. Pre 2024 CR runs right around the Baylor DE on the injury play. High e…[Read more]

Uggh, it’s becoming clear Utah may not be a very good football team.

Yup. Utah at the moment is a top level player developer for the blue crew. Enjoying the rest of the season. It’s been a good run.

Trailgoat replied to the topic Teams that would want Cam in 2025 in the forum Football 2 months, 3 weeks ago
Agree, use the $ to go get players, starting with a RB. Time to shed the what could of been Cam days of past and establish stability in the offense. Utah can’t sustain super conference market value with more of what’s going on now and last season. Guessing KW and Lud retire this year or do a transitional year at most. Looking fwd to watching IW play.

No way MS keeps Ludwig. The culture is set, time for a new generation OC. Wilson has an excellent arm and needs an innovative throwing mind to use it. The Utah OC job is going to be a coveted opportunity. Plenty of coaches see how good an offense can be with a MS run defense, thats not going away.

Trailgoat replied to the topic Dumb question in the forum Football 2 months, 3 weeks ago
A couple dumber questions :). With half the season remaining, Why is it so hard for Utah to move on from Cam Rising and is KW losing the trust and confidence of his players, maybe even some coaches? CR has been the best unavailable QB option to win football games for Utah over the past two years. The healthy (if possible) 2024 version of CR is not…[Read more]

IMO, this is KWs last season. At 65, time to ski, play golf, hangout with family. Sometimes at the end of your career it’s not in the cards to achieve all your high level immediate high level goals. Celebrate the collective achievements over the years and pass the torch. KW staying on as a consultant he can represent Utah’s work towards Super Lea…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic I drank the kool-aid and I regret it in the forum Football 2 months, 3 weeks ago
Not living in SLC, I gauge Kool-aid consumption based on communication from the coaches/prayers through various media outlets, social media, this site etc before the season. The main Kool-aid message was anything less than getting to the B12 Championship game was a failed season. Roughly half way through the season the goal is pretty much…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic Do we have a head coach problem? in the forum Football 2 months, 3 weeks ago
KW has run his course as HC. KW leaves when he wants to so any firing talk is silly. Hopefully he has sensible people in his camp advising him to hand off the program to a new generation of coaches before it gets worse. A 7 year age/experience gap between the starting and backup QB speaks volumes, along with many other issues discussed on the…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic How are we feeling? in the forum Football 3 months ago
ASU game tells us whether or not Utah is off to a slow start this season or is truly not a very good football team. KW’s back in his comfort zone coaching as the hunter. We saw last weekend what happens to good teams that don’t show up. Sone Bama fans are already calling for DeBoers head…geez.
Defense is fine. Utes score TDs 2 out of 3 times…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic Who do want winning this weekend to help Utah? in the forum Football 3 months ago
Too early to tell. Going with P12 team bandwagon. Brent Brennan and Kenny Dillingham fan. BB is a damn good coach and KD has ASU moving in the right direction. Deion’s entertaining and CU is scary. No into the other B12 teams yet. If Utah flames out, jumping on the old P12 team bandwagon.

Trailgoat replied to the topic Cam Rising seen in Splint yesterday signing autographs in the forum Football 3 months ago
Adding to Gatorade finger mania. Is it possible the laceration may have actually been an open dislocation? I did not pay much attention to the aftermath replay during the game other than shaking his hand running off the field. As mentioned on the board, QB room management’s been less than desirable for many years compounding the situation. Even i…[Read more]

Good points. Crazy to think Isaac Wilson is 7 years younger than CR. Wilson has a bright future ahead of him. Interested to see how the season plays out IF Rising comes back for the ASU game. Anything short of a CFP is not going to sit well with Utah fans and boosters who have very high expectations for CRs performance when he returns. CR looked…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic Give Rising The Benefit Of The Doubt in the forum Football 3 months, 1 week ago
Hard to take Rising or KW seriously after the knee injury charade. The weekly mental hopscotch last season only hurt the program in the long run. Everybody in the Rising camp, knew damn well he was not playing in 2023. The deception whether KW was aware of or not was a bad look for KW and the program.
The lack QB and RB development and…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic I bet Cam doesn't play this week in the forum Football 3 months, 1 week ago
Man, I think Rising needs more game reps before the tough last quarter of the schedule. CR looked rusty in the last 15 minutes before getting injured in the Baylor game. Wild guess Rising plays a few series.
Huge benefit is longer recovery time for Reid and O’toole to heal up going into the rougher back end of the schedule. Utes beat up UofA they…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic Can anyone give an update on Glover- Jaylon that is in the forum Football 3 months, 2 weeks ago
RB room is very thin, great to see Vincent get reps. Got to keep Bernard healthy. Stanley is not a between the tackles RB. Mitchell looks like a Freshman missing running lanes and doesn’t run like a 220 RB. What happened to Hunter Andrews?
Would be surprised if Glover or Wood (since injured, is Wood still on the team?) ever see future game time…[Read more]

B12 is the best stop gap right now for the super conference beauty contest. From a fan access perspective for those of us living West of the Rockies, it’s a hell of a lot easier and more attractive traveling to the original P12 locations. From a talent show perspective, B12 is the optimal short term place to be as long as Utah contends for B12…[Read more]
