Trailgoat replied to the topic Apple TV in the forum Football 1 year, 10 months ago
Agree, however, Utah has no where to go. Apple, Prime, whatever network is only a stop gap for the next 5-6 years or sooner before the entire system blows up consolidating into a 40 team super conference (or some variation) divided by regions run by Fox, ESPN, and NBC. What does this all mean for Utah, who knows? IMO, the current instability is a…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic Walker Lyons commits in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
Good for him. Safe choice while his body atrophies over the next two years. I’m sure NIL played a factor. This kid won’t even be BIG game ready for three years from now. Two years off the field and one year to get back into to playing shape. Other than some of the local fans, most of us won’t even remember his name especially with USC playing in…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic So what do you think about the potential of the 2023 team? in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
Solid breakdown. My 2 cents from the coaches couch. If Utah is to contend for the P!2 Championship they need to do more than break even in key positions. My biggest concerns noted below are Edge, WR, and LB.
QB: Rising healthy by game #1. Johnson and Rose battle for QB2. Spring focus giving these guys reps.
RB: JJ keeps improving, Curry back is…[Read more] -
Trailgoat replied to the topic 2023 Schedule Released in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
Utah not getting out of the Baylor game is a head scratcher. Thankfully Baylor is in rebuild mode. Looking at the schedule collectively, I don’t see one team in the P12 having a significant advantage. The USC end of season bye week is no big deal, USC has a grind to the end. Williams could very well play his last game in the P12 on 11/18. No way…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic 2023 PAC Football Schedule Released Today in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
Agree, should be interesting to see how Caleb stays focused next season having already won the Heisman and established his NFL value. Top priority has to be not getting hurt. He really has nothing more to prove other than winning a P12 Championship which NFL teams really don’t give a sheest about. I highly doubt we see the same CW running down the…[Read more]

Trailgoat started the topic Huntley and Rising in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
In a matter two years, with the rapid emergence of NIL, Rising may make in 2023 through NIL close to what Huntley made in 2022 as a third year NFL QB. Huntley is a free agent after this season so should get a solid contract bump with a new team if his agent takes care of business.
Rising will spend most of 2023 making commercials, spinning donuts…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic Red goggles off, what is your season record prediction for 2023? in the forum Football 1 year, 12 months ago
8-4 (not including the bowl game loss :)), Three in conference losses on the road and loss to Baylor on the road. Still a lot of questions in a few position groups. I get a very few teams go a full year playing their best every week.
Utah needs to improve in a few areas if they take the next step to winning another P12 Championship.
Edge rush:…[Read more]

A lot already covered after the game.
Solid showing by Ute Fans. Props to those of you making the long road trip from SLC. That’s a big drive and an even bigger one after the loss. My experience with PSU fans was overall good. Rose Bowl trip win or lose is an amazing experience. PSU fans brought the noise for being outnumbered. Rising going out…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic Am I the only one that thinks Kuithe coming back would be a bad choice? in the forum Football 2 years ago
Agree with Proud. Kuithe would do just fine with a new QB at Utah if Rising leaves. Kuithe would have solid support at Utah during his rehab and the team would not overload him early in the season allowing him to ease back to game shape as the season goes on.
Comes down to if Rising still has his heart set on playing college football. A lot of…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic Dorian Singer is a U$C Trojan in the forum Football 2 years ago
A boat load of WRs on the roster right now, maybe some of these guys step up that have been working with Nate Johnson on the scout team similar to Vele and Rising. A lot to play out after Rising makes a decision. Interested to see what Kuithe does if Rising leaves Utah. Does he go to the NFL, stay at Utah, or hit the portal?

No surprise. Utah WR recruiting is a tough sell with next season QB uncertainty.

Trailgoat replied to the topic Paging OnlyU in the forum Football 2 years ago
Really comes down to Rising having a big game and Oline taking care of business. Kincaid is by far IMO the most impactful loss. Huge Yasmin fan, great story. Kincaid had four catches in the CCG that kept drives alive and got a lot of attention from USC when he was on the field. Utes need Yasmin to continue blocking and making the same type of big…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic Dorian Singer: Is it between Utah and ASU like the video claims? in the forum Football 2 years ago
Rising indecisive, and quite frankly seems checked out ready to move on to a new adventure, but no pressure to decide until 1/15, higher level transfer portal QBs finding schools, back-up and Frosh QBs currently in Utah’s system. Why would a high level WR take the risk and sign with Utah? Singer’s going to a program like USC or other high profile…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic It appears that Cam Rising will be leaving in the forum Football 2 years ago
A lot of good takes here. Agree with Eagle, interview impression is CR’s ready to move on. The Riley interview came off awkward with Riley not letting up on the questioning about CR’s future. CR’s played football more than half his life, maybe he’s done playing football all together. If getting drafted was a sure bet he would probably be more…[Read more]

IF, the BB keeps winning, let’s see how attendance looks after the New Year when the P12 conference starts, students are back from break, and football is over. Student/MUSS support right now is worse than most highschool BB games. IMO, students will come back if the team wins. The HC is a cold, dungeon when 5K fans are spread out even with the…[Read more]

Yeah, makes sense. OnlyU, what do you know about the Morris kid at TE? He seemed to have a lot of upside potential coming in from Syracuse. IMO, if BK and CR come back the WR and the other TE/hybrid position will be intriguing during the off season. Utah at the moment is loaded at all the other position groups. What’s the status on Vele? Utes need…[Read more]

Trailgoat replied to the topic Wegis to the portal in the forum Football 2 years ago
Experience at TE has become a big need especially if Kuithe leaves. Afraid to say not having Kincaid on the field in the Rose Bowl will be a big problem, that’s how much Kincaid impacts the game. Kendall and Yasmin have stepped up in needed roles. Munir, IIRC has not lined up on offense line since the first USC game. The other TEs, Vaha, Morris,…[Read more]

Trailgoat started the topic Utah NIL? in the forum Football 2 years, 1 month ago
Honest question. Is there some sort of structure in place managing Utah NIL beyond the players trying to well T-shirts and other merch? I want to believe Utah is out in front of this in some capacity to keep their current players compensated. I guess we’ll see real soon how it plays out.

Trailgoat started the topic In game coaching and team leadership is elite at Utah. Utah is flat out mean. in the forum Football 2 years, 1 month ago
The non-verbal messaging from Rising vs Williams on the field was telling. Players watch their QB, how he acts, what he says, how he responds to adversity. The leaderhip commitment to his pack could not be any more opposite than what we saw on the field Friday as the game went on. If you get a chance, watch the game again and see how each QB…[Read more]

Any coach letting his star player go out on the filed with F@@K Utah or any team for that matter is doing a disservice to this kids character. Crying on the bench with a towel on his head not going out to congratulate the winning team. The non-verbal behavior of CW speaks volume about his charactor.
