  • In a matter two years, with the rapid emergence of NIL, Rising may make in 2023 through NIL close to what Huntley made in 2022 as a third year NFL QB. Huntley is a free agent after this season so should get a solid contract bump with a new team if his agent takes care of business.

Rising will spend most of 2023 making commercials, spinning donuts…[Read more]

  • 8-4 (not including the bowl game loss :)), Three in conference losses on the road and loss to Baylor on the road. Still a lot of questions in a few position groups. I get a very few teams go a full year playing their best every week.

Utah needs to improve in a few areas if they take the next step to winning another P12 Championship.

    Edge rush:…[Read more]

A lot already covered after the game.

Solid showing by Ute Fans. Props to those of you making the long road trip from SLC. That’s a big drive and an even bigger one after the loss. My experience with PSU fans was overall good. Rose Bowl trip win or lose is an amazing experience. PSU fans brought the noise for being outnumbered. Rising going out…[Read more]

  • Agree with Proud. Kuithe would do just fine with a new QB at Utah if Rising leaves. Kuithe would have solid support at Utah during his rehab and the team would not overload him early in the season allowing him to ease back to game shape as the season goes on.

Comes down to if Rising still has his heart set on playing college football. A lot of…[Read more]

A boat load of WRs on the roster right now, maybe some of these guys step up that have been working with Nate Johnson on the scout team similar to Vele and Rising. A lot to play out after Rising makes a decision. Interested to see what Kuithe does if Rising leaves Utah. Does he go to the NFL, stay at Utah, or hit the portal?

  • Trailgoat replied to the topic Dorian Singer is a U$C Trojan in the forum Football 2 years ago

No surprise. Utah WR recruiting is a tough sell with next season QB uncertainty.

Really comes down to Rising having a big game and Oline taking care of business. Kincaid is by far IMO the most impactful loss. Huge Yasmin fan, great story. Kincaid had four catches in the CCG that kept drives alive and got a lot of attention from USC when he was on the field. Utes need Yasmin to continue blocking and making the same type of big…[Read more]

  • Rising indecisive, and quite frankly seems checked out ready to move on to a new adventure, but no pressure to decide until 1/15, higher level transfer portal QBs finding schools, back-up and Frosh QBs currently in Utah’s system. Why would a high level WR take the risk and sign with Utah? Singer’s going to a program like USC or other high profile…[Read more]

  • A lot of good takes here. Agree with Eagle, interview impression is CR’s ready to move on. The Riley interview came off awkward with Riley not letting up on the questioning about CR’s future. CR’s played football more than half his life, maybe he’s done playing football all together. If getting drafted was a sure bet he would probably be more…[Read more]

  • IF, the BB keeps winning, let’s see how attendance looks after the New Year when the P12 conference starts, students are back from break, and football is over. Student/MUSS support right now is worse than most highschool BB games. IMO, students will come back if the team wins. The HC is a cold, dungeon when 5K fans are spread out even with the…[Read more]

Yeah, makes sense. OnlyU, what do you know about the Morris kid at TE? He seemed to have a lot of upside potential coming in from Syracuse. IMO, if BK and CR come back the WR and the other TE/hybrid position will be intriguing during the off season. Utah at the moment is loaded at all the other position groups. What’s the status on Vele? Utes need…[Read more]

Experience at TE has become a big need especially if Kuithe leaves. Afraid to say not having Kincaid on the field in the Rose Bowl will be a big problem, that’s how much Kincaid impacts the game. Kendall and Yasmin have stepped up in needed roles. Munir, IIRC has not lined up on offense line since the first USC game. The other TEs, Vaha, Morris,…[Read more]

  • Trailgoat started the topic Utah NIL? in the forum Football 2 years ago

Honest question. Is there some sort of structure in place managing Utah NIL beyond the players trying to well T-shirts and other merch? I want to believe Utah is out in front of this in some capacity to keep their current players compensated. I guess we’ll see real soon how it plays out.

  • The non-verbal messaging from Rising vs Williams on the field was telling. Players watch their QB, how he acts, what he says, how he responds to adversity. The leaderhip commitment to his pack could not be any more opposite than what we saw on the field Friday as the game went on. If you get a chance, watch the game again and see how each QB…[Read more]

  • Any coach letting his star player go out on the filed with F@@K Utah or any team for that matter is doing a disservice to this kids character. Crying on the bench with a towel on his head not going out to congratulate the winning team. The non-verbal behavior of CW speaks volume about his charactor. Someone paying attention in his camp needs to…[Read more]

Solid summary. Thanks. All captain obvious stuff below.

    Which Rising shows up?
Jonah Ellis healthy? The speed of him and O’toole are key in getting after CW
Dare I say it, special teams. Baffling this is still a problem going on three years.
Oline shows up with solid run blocking and pass protection.
No TOs, no dropped passes, get some stops on…[Read more]

  • Best of luck to TT. Yeah, I recall some media comments from credible guys close to the program last Spring about TT’s waning focus. Sports programs at all levels deal with similar situations all the time, part of the gig. Hopefully TT learns from the life experience the Utah program provided him. Good life lesson for the other players as well…[Read more]

  • If Utah ends up in the Holiday bowl, no way IMO KW rolls NJ out as the starting QB against, say Texas or other ranked team. BB will get the start if CR does not play. I am guessing NJ gets his last game reps Friday to give Rising a break and mix things up. Utes need to roll out all stops to win in the CCG, regroup with a month off for recovery…[Read more]

  • Trailgoat replied to the topic The line opens up at USC -1 in the forum Football 2 years ago

Look at USC’s schedule after playing Utah and comparative head to head scores (I know this is a little zoobie). USC is very beatable and match up well for Scalley and Utah’s much improved defense. Utah laid an egg against UCLA. USC vs Arizona, Cal, UCLA, ND all one score games. USC, by far had the weakest schedule after playing Utah. The entire ND…[Read more]

The CU game was good for Rising to get back some confidence back. We will of course not know the status of any game time injuries until Friday night. Sounds like Kincaid is still a little banged up. Big loss is Jonah Ellis on defense. Is he back this week? Yeah, CPIII not playing was a surprise. Hopefully he’s good to go Friday.

    Media and USC fan…[Read more]
