UtahMan17 replied to the topic NIL and Parity in College Football in the forum Football 1 week, 4 days ago
When combined with the transfer rules, absolutely. Vandy beats Bama. TCU makes the national title game. Players stay longer with NIL so there’s more senior talent across the country on teams, which makes a big difference for the teams who aren’t able to get impact freshman each year. Transfer rules make more good players who are backups at big…[Read more]

6’3, 222lbs RB? Jesus. I cannot wait to get that kid some carries. He has to be pretty dang good for this staff to keep him on offense.

UtahMan17 replied to the topic 3* DT Semi Taulanga from Meter Dei committed to Utah in the forum Football 3 months ago
Great activity, good athleticism, good playmaking, good hands, great motor & hustle, and the Utah staff NEVER takes undersized DL unless there is some other serious contributing factor, so that tells me that this kid has a legit DT sized frame and growth trajectory. Plus if he’s a mission kid then he won’t count in this class, so the hand wringing…[Read more]

UtahMan17 replied to the topic What's our defense looking like? in the forum Football 4 months, 3 weeks ago
Something like this. Probably the best DL in the conference, one of the best LB in the conference alongside a couple very solid starters, and a mostly unproven but talented secondary. A lot of transfers who could challenge for spots and depth. This honestly seems like a really good defense to me. Not on the level of years past, but good enough to…[Read more]

UtahMan17 replied to the topic Do we want this kid? in the forum Football 8 months ago
Keneley would be a DE for us. Only see Utah adding him if they really want playable depth. He’s got a good motor and he’s a good kid.

He’s not a draftable prospect. There are a million great athlete tweener frontcourt players who can’t shoot out there.

UtahMan17 replied to the topic Whitt said some interesting things on the radio today in the forum Football 9 months, 2 weeks ago
Wait what. Carsen Ryan similar to Kincaid? How? Kincaid was an uber-athletic big WR who put on extra weight to play TE and had to improve as a blocker and still is limited by his thin frame in the NFL, while Ryan is a big bodied blocking TE who has SOME receiving skills.

UtahMan17 replied to the topic Barton is healthy and ready to play in the forum Football 9 months, 3 weeks ago
Barton has every shot to be drafted as high as Devin Lloyd. Different players, but same combination of NFL physical tools, hard working dedication to improving, and history of production at a very high level. Just hope he can prove the health thing was an aberration.

UtahMan17 replied to the topic New Poll: Rate the coaching staff's 2023 Football Season in the forum Football 10 months, 1 week ago
I think this was clearly a good coaching job. Earlier in the year there was talk from everyone about how this was Coach Whitt’s best year of coaching ever. Y’all just forget all of that? Whole team was hurt and we beat USC and UCLA, I think that’s pretty incredible. Recency bias will lead everyone to feel negative about it, but this was a really…[Read more]

UtahMan17 replied to the topic Safety Luke Bryant Commits in the forum Football 10 months, 2 weeks ago
Some of yall really need to chill out. He’s a missionary, he’s not going to be part of this class. He’s listed at 6’2, 195, hits hard, moves well, and will come back in 2 years. That is a take. If he can’t move well enough for safety he’ll probably be a dang good linebacker.
This is not one to get mad about.

UtahMan17 replied to the topic Bryson – Zach Wilson comparison in the forum Professional Sports 11 months, 4 weeks ago
Very different quarterbacks. Wilson has top tier arm talent, Barnes does not. Wilson constantly tries to force bad throws and make big plays, Barnes tries to make the easy simple play as often as possible. Wilson is a slippery runner with good acceleration and great escapability but can’t take too many hits, Barnes is a straight ahead runner who…[Read more]

tough one. Scalley is tricky enough to do this, but so confident and competitive that id be surprised he forfeit a touchdown from that far away. And i love bryson but it was FAR from a guarantee hed be able to get us into field goal range.

UtahMan17 replied to the topic Vaki should move to offense full-time in the forum Football 1 year ago
He lead our team in receptions with 5, and had 9 carries. He’s featured plenty on offense. He’s a little under sized and runs really hard. Not the kind of body you want to give 20 carries to every week, plus Glover and Jackson are good too. I think with a full season in mind it’s best for him to remain a featured rotational guy, and they’re using…[Read more]
