  • He lead our team in receptions with 5, and had 9 carries. He’s featured plenty on offense. He’s a little under sized and runs really hard. Not the kind of body you want to give 20 carries to every week, plus Glover and Jackson are good too. I think with a full season in mind it’s best for him to remain a featured rotational guy, and they’re using…[Read more]

All love. Go Utes. Privilege to watch our favorite team be lead by such a warrior and humble person. He won’t be perfect, but he’ll give everything he’s got and just keep getting better. Let’s get behind him for the rest of the season, win or lose. Game is changing with NIL, transfers, social media, and we have a young man like Bryson leading out…[Read more]

  • The only thing you can know for sure about Bryson is that he’ll work harder than anyone, keep level headed, and just keep getting better and better. I think with him you have to throw expectations out the window and just enjoy the ride. There will be ups and downs, he has limitations, but he’s probably always the toughest guy on the field and will…[Read more]

He’s bad at it because it’s really hard. NFL teams with the smartest offensive minds in the world mess it up all the time too. The only colleges that are “good” at it are the ones who can just take 2 or 3 of the most talented HS and transfers every single year. Alabama is desperate for good QB play this year. It’s hard. And we’ve had Huntley and…[Read more]

It’s hard for almost everyone to find QBs. Not a specific Utah problem. Teams like LSU and Florida have had elite defenses and skill players for years but never found a good QB to take them over the top. Even Alabama is struggling at QB this year and for the last several years just relied on transfers. If Alabama can’t develop QBs, then you can’t…[Read more]

  • Really does seem like the field is evening out. TCU beating Michigan to get into the title game? Utah winning Pac-12 back to back? Alabama falling back to the pack as just another top 15 team? Colorado going from a joke to competitive in one season? NIL may have some drawbacks but it’s getting more money to the players and parity is increased so…[Read more]

We’re 4-0 and just locked in our best recruiting class of all time. I think they’re doing fine.

  • UtahMan17 replied to the topic Recruiting in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago

Will be difficult to recruit as well in Texas as we do in California, imo. Culturally the CA kids are open to wherever if the big Pac12 powers don’t want them, while Texas kids would rather go to TCU, Arkansas, Texas Tech, etc. over a school like Utah. Texas will be huge of course, and we have to hit it hard, but we really have to keep working the…[Read more]

We’re one of only, what, 20? 25 undefeated teams left in the nation, have one of the deepest and talented rosters we’ve ever had, just beat two solid P5 programs out of conference to open the year, have one of the best coaches in the country, and are about to get back our All-Conference QB. Yeah I’m pretty excited.

  • Huntley was a very accurate pro style QB who could escape with his legs when needed. Johnson is a mobile QB with elite athleticism who needs to develop as a passer. They’re pretty different.

  • UtahMan17 replied to the topic Bryson Barnes in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago

Bryson Barnes may or may not prove to be a high level starting QB. But I’d just like to point out that Georgia was having this exact same conversation about Stetson Bennet right up until he led them to a national title.

Bryson has some legit natural ability (state champ in multiple sports, set some state QB records, legit track times, decent…[Read more]

  • What is your worry? That because a student has to take a gender studies class their freshman year or sees a tampon in a bathroom they’ll be helpless to becoming a democrat?

  • This is a straw man argument. Who is saying we’ll dominate? Why do you invent things to be argue about?

  • Who was it that kicked the crap out of USC and Oregon in back to back Pac12 title games at neutral sites?

  • What I’ve heard…
    1. Biggest Sigh Of Relief – Charlie Brewer. He looks accurate, confident, decisive. Clear front runner even vs what Rising did in practice. He’s no Bentley.
    2. Biggest Surprise – Bryson Barnes. Walk-on QB who has shown a lot of improvement and is legitimately competing for the #2 spot right now. However Costelli looks better…[Read more]

Removed his commitment tweet and there’s no Utah references on his twitter…is this kid already backing out on us like he did UW?

  • Word is Velltray Jefferson is already out. Apparently he was homesick and is looking to head to Fresno State.
All Utah stuff is gone from his twitter, even older posts. Man, he was one of my favorite players in this years class, so much potential. Oh well, at least we have a million other LBs and DEs in the program. We’ll be all right.

  • THIS is the kind of athlete we need to get. Where ever he ends up he has GREAT potential, but I think he could be an NFL type DE or LB depending on how he develops…Love Reynolds, Tufaga, and Elliss…but Jefferson’s ceiling is higher than any of them. REALLY hope these predictions are right!
