Things are getting a little too optimistic around here. Where is Ann Arbor Ute when you need him?

This is awesome. It is looking like this will be Utah’s best ever recruiting class. Great day to be a Ute!

I must have missed the news. We got an incoming transfer from UA that plays Linebacker? What is his eligibility?

@pugetute Taylor’s offense seemed to handle the speeder/more athletic LB’s/Corners/Safties in the PAC 12 when EWU played Washington State (I know, it was WSU and it was only a one game sample size), but it is enough that I am hopefully with the players we have he can get is to the top half of the P12 in offense.

I was just going to post this. I saw it on twitter. I believe he was pretty high on Utah all along. Is Coach Taylor already working some recruiting magic?

I am also hearing Quinton. I listened to a podcast interview with him a month or so ago, and it got me really hoping he would make his way back to Utah.

Also, if you look at pass/rush ratio it was about 55/45 in favor of passing. Not that far out of whack from where Utah wants to be.

I think if he calls close to the same ratio of pass/run at Utah we will see much better rushing numbers.

I like it. Jim Harding is Assistant HC and OL Coach, but Troy will be the sole OC and QB Coach. I think this is the best scenario to keep existing coaches happy and bring in a new guy that has a track record, but isn’t a retread. From what I am hearing it sounds like Whitt will just plug Troy Taylor into ARods spot and leave Harding in his existing role. This is all rumors and I am not particularly connected to anyone that would know, so take that with a giant grain of salt, but I do think that probably makes the most sense.

Is this the QB Coach/Pass game Q at UCLA? As sucky as UCLA was this year, their passing attack was actually pretty solid even with the backup QB.

I think Utah hit on a couple of really important factors in our success.

1) Indiana has not beaten a team with a winning record this year. My guess (hope) is this game ends up being similar to the last time we played in this bowl (when it was called something else and we beat GT)

I know you are joking, but the joke kind of illustrates the frustration with Utah on offense. It comes back to having zero offensive identity. It’s like we would be happy to go from a Norm Chow type to a Mark Helfrich type. We just want some sort of production.

Yeah, they replayed that during my drive home this evening. I would love to see Scott Mitchell come be the QB coach. Not sure who you get rid of to fit him in ( I think you have to give Arod one more year with Troy), but I do think we need to give Scott a chance.

10-2. The end of this season was painful, but looking at the big picture, we started a brand new QB, had a ton of injuries and return most of our production on both sides of the ball.

If I were a bigger person I would feel sad for them playing an FCS team in November, but I am not a bigger person, so it is hilarious to me.
