Well those two are tied together. If Roderick is still the OC, I’m betting that Williams is the QB. Sometimes you have to take a step back to take a step forward. They had a lot of help from Washington in stopping them. Miscues, poor play calls and really bad execution had as much to do with that defensive performance as ASU forcing plays. That’s probably true in most cases, but if we play like we did at USC we win.

I think the key is to build PAC 12 level talent depth. You could tell that we were gassed at the end on defense. If you look at the conference the teams that are consistently at the top have that depth to overcome injury and still have enough left to handle long stretches where they have to rotate players in at key spots.
