The problem is that football and basketball have to fund all the other programs (maybe with a little help from gymnastics at the U). It’s why the whole argument of how much student athletes make for the university is a huge red herring given the mandates of Title IX.

I agree with Larry Wilson, guy was THE ute in the NFL for a long time. What is interesting about these lists is they tend to favor the most recent guys at the expense of the older players that may have better credentials.

Taylor definitely has a killer instinct. At Folsom he seldom called off the dogs, and then most times it was because the HC made him.

My guess is that they’ve let all three QBs know that there is a potential for things to change based on performance.

Why would you think our RBs are a weak point. Both Moss and Shyne had beaten out Williams prior to their injuries.

I remember him complaining about being stuck in Utah his whole freshman year. Then Utah proceeded to make him millions and he promptly stiffed them.

One way to take the pressure off your defense is to slow the game by controlling the ball. McBride did this a lot against BYU. Not only did it help your defense rest, but it helps in taking the opposing offense out of rhythm. A quicker paced offense means your defense gets less rest between series and the opposing offense has less time to “coo” off.

Wards all over the US and abroad used to broadcast their games (don’t know if they still do this). So many of the kids grow up with BYU as the familiar school.
