Utah has run some form of spread since Urban has been here. The thing with the spread is it covers a variety of formations, personnel and concepts.

Utahute72 replied to the topic Remember SoCalPat from UFN a few years ago and the book he pimped ad nauseam? in the forum Football 7 years, 3 months ago
Yea, I never considered Pat an author, more of an editor/compiler. He was working in the news media at the time and it seemed to me he was approached by someone to put it together as part of a series. I’ve had my run ins with him on the various boards because he seemed to have some stilted knowledge about Utah. That said the book is still…[Read more]

Utahute72 replied to the topic Utah Jazz were 18-19 in games that George Hill did not play last season. in the forum NBA 7 years, 4 months ago
I think the issue with Hill was availability. Add to that that he was only interested in coming back if Hayward did and the free money that brought in Rubio was expiring. The Jazz waited as long as they could.

Interesting discussion on ESPN. The modern paradigm is that you need a superstar to attract other superstars to compete for a championship. The likelihood of that ever happening in Utah is pretty low. I don’t see Boston doing that even with both Hayward and Thomas, so really this move doesn’t much help either franchise. We have to hope that…[Read more]

Utahute72 replied to the topic Predictors of success in the forum Football 7 years, 6 months ago
The lack of returning starters on the Oline is the biggest issue. On D-line at Utah, given the way we use them, it’s more about the top 8 players since they rotate. Skill positions on offense are less of an issue because you can overcome some mistakes with athletic ability. On Defense LB and Safety are the most difficult to learn, but somewhat…[Read more]

I don’t know if that was the article you meant to post because it was from the New Yorker. It was as one would expect from that rag, horribly slanted and somewhat obtuse.

Utahute72 replied to the topic Denver morning sports radio this morning on Bolles. in the forum Football 7 years, 7 months ago
On the NFL shows today on ESPN Bolles was the only OT that had a first round grade. (I think there were two guards and no centers). The dearth of quality talent at the Oline positions means that Bolles will go sooner rather than later.

Multiple sources have indicated that Daniels was a discipline issue and not a positive influence on the team.

The So-called renewable energy sources are a will-o-wist. They will never be able to adequately replace other methods of power generation in for foreseeable future. So we are left with the option of how go generate power. I really think we need to look at a combination of natural gas, nuclear and coal. All of these technologies can be made…[Read more]

3. I don’t tend to fully agree with any side or political party on any of those issues.

That comment by Nunes is fairly indicative of they whole problem with politics today. Let’s look at the statement. He basically says that some Trump associates were picked up on surveillence as secondary sources. Well duh. If you are talking to people from other countries US citizens are likely to be picked up in these incidental ways, that’s…[Read more]

As Einstein pointed out, all things are relative. The fact that you see mostly conservatives that falsely claim to be moderates probably means you are fairly liberal in your perspectives. The real question is how many comments by liberals make you cringe or how many time have you voted for someone of the other party with a more moderate political bent.

Utahute72 started the topic Sounds like there is some good news and some bad news for board liberals. in the forum Politics 7 years, 8 months ago
The good news is that congress is going to appoint a special prosecutor.
The bad news is it’s going to be Ken Starr (rumor is he will start by looking at Hillary’s role in Russing hacking).
Sometimes it pays to be careful what you ask for. -

I don’t think you can answer No. 3 until after another year or two. Fact is we probably have Larry for another 4 years unless he chooses to leave on his own accord.
