It’s a fine line to walk. I think Tony is trying to encourage discussion, without letting the contention that was so prevalent on utefans toward the end create a negative atmosphere.

Recent studies question whether the designation of a national monument is actually the economic boon most supporters claim.

Yet another dumb comment from the Trump team. As a military briefer you do not want to spend any more time that you have to doing that chore. So the briefer will give the principal as much or little information as he needs. A lot of the information is in daily intelligence summaries. If that’s enough fine, but most decision makers want a…[Read more]

I understand the frustration. It was more a general statement than directed at your specific post. It always seemed like someone would make a big production of leaving, then two weeks later show up again. It always felt like grandstanding. I know in that last few months many tried to get his attention focused back on the site but were unsuccessful.

Chris’ ex remarried and had primary custody of the kids. Unless something changed in the last couple of years, financially they should be fine, emotionally is another thing.

I am not a Trump supporter. His presidency has been the disaster I expected, but I understand how these operations work and the information I’ve heard tracks with how typical operations function. I just think we need to be clear about what did and did not happen.

The only thing left for the Trump administration was to push the go button. They were waiting on the proper conditions (dark of the moon) and after the initial approval the first time that was available was when it was executed. I really can’t assess the worthiness, other than CENTCOM said they got actionable intelligence. How they use that we…[Read more]

Typical hatchet job from a liberal paper. This was a raid planned during the Obama administration and executed during the Trump administration. There was actionable intelligence gained from the raid, so yes it was a success in that it accomplished that limited objective. Both sides need to critically assess these actions with an eye toward how…[Read more]

You last comment is why I never understood those “I’m leaving posts”. Use of these sites is voluntary and completely up to your own desires. If you’re frustrated, unhappy or whatever, just leave.

I’m with the Dennis Miller approach to immigration. “I don’t care if the come, but is it too much to ask them to sign the guest register on the way in.” I’ve long thought we needed to fix the whole range of problems with immigration, including streamlining the process where possible, ensuring we can weed out the bad actors, securing the borders…[Read more]

How about we rephrase your strawman alert to read: Government should act as robin hood and forcibly take money from one class of citizens to support bad behavior by another class of citizens. I’m not saying we shouldn’t care, but we need to have a serious discussion about how we solve the problem.

I agree with the sentiment that we need to be smart not scared.
But you have to look at some of the issues Europe has had. Immigrant from some cultures do indeed reinvest in their communities lifting them up, but on the downside you have the city in Belgium that has been completely taken over by Muslim immigrants which has produced an unending…[Read more]
