Pretty interesting piece by Bloomberg. Something I didn’t know were how much much money NIL ($1.97B) comes from collective (80%). The story from Washington is interesting. I can see more and more litigation against universities from players.

Mike Leach first 3 years at WSU is 3-9, 6-7, 3-9 and last year was 6-7. Maybe he had great offense every year but still had losing years. I’m sure WSU fans were hoping Leach could coach defense. Leach is all about offense and Whitt is about defense. Scalley will also be defensive mind. At the end of the day, it’s the W that matters.
Can’t…[Read more]

Great insights on looking at the pay of OC. Would be interesting to see how long those OC have been at the same position with the same school. Outside of money, what else do OC wants? An OC career path is either getting fired or to become a HC. If they are not good, they are out. If they are good, most likely they will be asked to become a HC…[Read more]

When Wilson was benched, he was standing by himself off to the side watching the game at first. Later on he stood with the team on the sideline.
Glover and Mitchell were seating on the bench by themselves during our last drive while everyone was standing on the sideline watching our offense. Fano came and told them to stand with the team and…[Read more]

I think the interaction with fans and media have changed a lot and not in a good way. With social media, every word coach said would be disected and broadcast on social media. Often people would add on their own interpretation to gain more attention. Majority of the fanbase just wantt to hear but there is no way to filter out information to…[Read more]

Thank you. I figure for those who know Chop Suey Luey’s, we experienced those years hoping for a winning record and beating TSPP was the highlights.

Here are a few thoughts that shape my perspective. Losing still stings, but I wasn’t as caught up in the preseason hype as the media was. Setting expectations too high often leads to disappointment.
-This situation reminds me of the days when there was a significant gap between starters and backups. With NIL deals, teams won’t keep many str…[Read more]

Kyle Whittingham praises Alex Smith and the honor that finally came his way
Sad thing with the NIL and portal now, I don’t see many players will have the same passion and relationship with their schools. Alex Smith, Steve Smith, Eric Weddle spent their college career in Utah and still representing. Now player only spend 1 or 2 year at a school…[Read more]

utahwingman replied to the topic Why I don't think Whitt is telling the whole truth… in the forum Football 1 year, 1 month ago
I doubt any HC will ever tell the whole truth. I remembered Whitt said doing the press is one of his least favorite things to do but he is obligated to do it. Imagine if you have to give a weekly presentation to a bunch of people who have no direct impact to your job but just want to gossip about what you do. You probably just going to give the…[Read more]

utahwingman replied to the topic Bryson – Zach Wilson comparison in the forum Professional Sports 1 year, 1 month ago
I think the Utah football team and the Jets are quite similar.
Lost our starting QB for the season. Both of the QB thought to be the saviors of the teams.
Have great defenses that can get us some wins. But they can only do so much.
But the offenses are inconssitent, especially at the QB performance. Not that I care about the Jets but…[Read more]

Before “Crazy Lady” and “Bubbles”, there was a marching band member with long hair in the 90’s. He did his head banging like he would give himself a whipblash. Not sure if he gave himself CTE but he got the crowd going.

utahwingman replied to the topic Cam will not do show today in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago
I remembered before the season started, some girl twitted Cam had a setback and won’t be starting anytime soon. Some fans were calling her out based on the information we were given and said she was making stuff up. I wonder if she actually close to Cam’s circle and knew the extend of his injury. There are so many different stories from…[Read more]

utahwingman replied to the topic Riley's interview with Cam today. Puts to bed a bunch of rumors. in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago
If the team keeps looking for QB from the portal, I’m sure it will be hard to convince any good HS QB to commit in the future. They all want to start ASAP and don’t want keep waiting behind some portal QB every year. Then fans will probably complain about we can’t get any good QB out of HS and our recruiting sucks.
Fans always look at…[Read more]

utahwingman replied to the topic Any Houston Area Watch Parties? in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago
What part of Houston? We used to have watch parties at SRO (Eric Weddle even stopped by once) but it closed. It’s very hard to get people together since most people live in different suburbs and it takes like an hour to commute. We haven’t had any kind of gathering since hardly anyone would show up due to the commute.

At one of point of the game, one of our player threw a piece of garbage to the sideline. Someone picked it up and held it to show the people on the sideline. It was the sole from a shoe, it completely came off.
