Great insights on looking at the pay of OC. Would be interesting to see how long those OC have been at the same position with the same school. Outside of money, what else do OC wants? An OC career path is either getting fired or to become a HC. If they are not good, they are out. If they are good, most likely they will be asked to become a HC at a different school. If you were an OC, would you take a lateral move to be an OC just for the money but still have to operate under a HC, or become a HC having full control and higher ceiling for pay? I know we have gone through many OC but that’s the nature of the positions. You are leaving either way and you are not going to find many OC wants to stay long.
We are not getting a roster full of 4-5 stars athletes either, so our success is highly depends on a handful of players to stay healthy and perfrom. Evan programs with 4-5 stars athletes are losing them in the portal but they are able to reload with other 4-5 stars.

I think the interaction with fans and media have changed a lot and not in a good way. With social media, every word coach said would be disected and broadcast on social media. Often people would add on their own interpretation to gain more attention. Majority of the fanbase just wantt to hear but there is no way to filter out information to those who would twist words to create attentions. It sucks but that’s the world we live in now. Anything you say or do can be used against you. All it takes is someone to put it on the social media with a negative spin. You can’t blame coaches don’t want to do press or interviews. As much as coach said they don’t pay attention but they probably still see them. They have to use it as a tool to recruit.

Also mean Britain Covey becomes more valuable to the team since he has more chances to take it back.

I doubt any HC will ever tell the whole truth. I remembered Whitt said doing the press is one of his least favorite things to do but he is obligated to do it. Imagine if you have to give a weekly presentation to a bunch of people who have no direct impact to your job but just want to gossip about what you do. You probably just going to give the least amount of information to them and just get it over.
If I were a HC, I would make stupid stuff up like “Cam has been practing throw with one leg and he is ready to go.”

I think the Utah football team and the Jets are quite similar.
Lost our starting QB for the season. Both of the QB thought to be the saviors of the teams.
Have great defenses that can get us some wins. But they can only do so much.
But the offenses are inconssitent, especially at the QB performance. Not that I care about the Jets but interesting to see even the pro level have to deal with similar situations.

Before “Crazy Lady” and “Bubbles”, there was a marching band member with long hair in the 90’s. He did his head banging like he would give himself a whipblash. Not sure if he gave himself CTE but he got the crowd going.

Mike Leach first 3 years at WSU is 3-9, 6-7, 3-9 and last year was 6-7. Maybe he had great offense every year but still had losing years. I’m sure WSU fans were hoping Leach could coach defense. Leach is all about offense and Whitt is about defense. Scalley will also be defensive mind. At the end of the day, it’s the W that matters.
Can’t argue about the offensive plays haven’t been good but if we have players like Harrison Jr. or Drake Landon on the team, probably doesn’t matter the play callings. Just throw the ball to their directions and they will catch the ball. They made their QB and OC looked good. Harrison Jr. (as a freshman) burnt us in Rose Bowl when their WR 1, 2 and 3 not available. Drake Landon also destroyed our defense with their backup string QB. Having good recruiting class doesn’t gauranteed wins but it’s a good luxury to have if your starters are not available.

Thank you. I figure for those who know Chop Suey Luey’s, we experienced those years hoping for a winning record and beating TSPP was the highlights.
