Do coaches count? If so, then Majerus will always be my favorite Runnin’ Ute. Foul-mouthed, fat prick that he was, he also loved his players even when he hated them, and was the coach throughout my time at the U.

Otherwise, favorite as a Ute would be KVH. I was friends with a couple of guys on the team and got a chance to hang out with him a few times in ’96 and ’97. Played some great games as a Ute and definitely was the main reason those teams got as far as they did.

Poor weather. Huge defensive stop that kept momentum status quo. Those two alone would tell me it’s the wrong time to make the call. But okay, call is made, let’s take a chance. But when the kick went that deep into the endzone, Covey would already have had to run 5-10 yards to get in front of Bubba, even if he didn’t move. Covey didn’t audible out (or whatever options might exist) and he should have just taken the knee. But a true freshman with all the emotion running, I can’t fault him for making the bad decision to continue to follow coach’s order. Not sure what Bubba could have done to limit the risks – if he took a few steps back so he’s behind Covey again or just stood still, it may have tipped off the special teams and result in a safety or s**tty field position.

I’m just glad in the end it didn’t matter and we still won. But can you imagine the heartache if we lost that game by less than 5 pts, or if their ensuing FG was the final score of the game!

      Technically 26 in each section.

Although Sections 1 & 5 both start with Row 3.

Good arguments, but I’d rather see it come toward the end of the season for the UCLA game (provided we’re both still playing well) then to have them show up at Homecoming Week for Cal.

Navy & Notre Dame could be interesting, but I bet they want to hold ND for a bigger game, even if Navy could sneak into the rankings with a win this week over (they’ll be 4-0).

Same with Northwestern & Michigan. You know they can’t wait to host Harbaugh (I mean Michigan), but with home games against MSU and tOSU later this season, either of those are more likely. Of those two, UofM vs. OSU game is the most likely, since they already hosted MSU in Week 1.

Based on what they have to pick from, I think Utah is the frontrunner right now. We’ll just have to wait and see!

I have two uber-zoobs who sit near me and had to spend a portion of yesterday listening to them complain about the referees being completely one-sided and the standard “if we play that game 10 times, we win X of them” arguments as well. I made the mistake of trying to interact with them, even went so far as to show that both teams had the same number of penalties called on them (5) for very close to the same yardage (-45 for TDS; -53 for UofM). So that just got the “one-sided” refs comment changed to “they weren’t calling anything”.

They also tried to turn the tables on our conversation by stating how down the Pac-12 obviously is since Oregon definitely doesn’t deserve to be ranked, thus our ranking is inflated by a win over them (ala 1984?) and the top team (i.e. UCLA) barely survived against them. I wasn’t sure if they realized how both of those comments were an insult to their own team.

Then my cell rang, and my ring tone is Utah Man. They both rolled their eyes and walked back to their desks. Neither have spoken a word yet today.

Post was unfortunately removed before I got to feast on the TDS tears.

I have a ~15 y/o PC that I think I last turned on three years ago. Used to play MMORPGs like City of Heroes, WOW, and SW:G. Also used to load up older games like the original Fallout/Fallout2, Diablo’s, etc. when I felt like killing some time.

I have an Xbox 360 which I game on maybe every other week or so. Never really enjoyed the online FPS games as I don’t have the time to get familiar and ended up just getting insta-killed by people who spend too much time on the game. Unfortunately my friends & family who game are generally playing these so I don’t often interact with them on Xbox Live. I’m more likely to fire up an outdated sports franchise for a game or two, or if I have time, I might play some AC:BF or GTA. I do enjoy Happy Wars as a quick, fun online interaction though.

We also have a Wii which is usually found unplugged, though occasionally my wife clears some space to Zumba or one of the WiiFit games and then doesn’t actually turn the system on.

My girls are still a bit young to game (3 & 1 next month) but as they get older, I’m sure we’ll start seeing some age-appropriate content taking over the consoles.

      Sooooo much whining….

It’s the nature of the beast. Sites rise and fall and some rise again (whether you wanted them to or not). And WebMonkey has had real life issues that affected his ability to manage the site as well as he once did. Can any of you honestly say that something you started 11 years ago (aside from family/marriage) are still your top priority?

You can put me down as a yes vote too. I generally have a couple of extra tickets that I sell to friends/family and then list the remaining games on KSL or StubHub. But I’d rather keep it “in house” so to speak, if possible.
