Bemoaning our conference seems like bemoaning cold during winter and heat during summer. There is nothing I can do about it so focus on the positive aspects of both seasons rather than feel miserable about the negative aspects.
The positives about being in the B12 as I see them:
-Access to the playoffs. If Utah is really so much better than all…[Read more] -

I’ll be shocked if it is not Shah. He is charismatic, played at Utah, great recruiter, has two degrees from Utah (undergrad and Law), has more knowledge than anyone else on the staff regarding Utah’s defensive schemes and strategies, and has been very loyal.

You would think so. Announcers said they saw blood but I didn’t.

There are lacerations and lacerations. If it is an inconsequential nick then it doesn’t matter when he comes back. If it is a significant lac with suture over or on the side of the knuckle- it needs time to heal or it will split open again. It could be bolstered with tape or steri-strips for game time. But playing with a not-healed and significant…[Read more]

“make it known that they want somebody, they confidently make their pitch, and they let the chips fall and move on regardless.”
I suspect this to be exactly what the coaches are doing. The fans are the ones being a little gross. The coaches are recruiting and will be fine whatever the outcome is. I am sure they want him but I am equally sure…[Read more]

Uteanooga replied to the topic Whitt said Rising’s injury doesn’t seem serious in the forum Football 4 months, 2 weeks ago
If Rising has a finger sprain it will not heal quickly if he is gripping and throwing. He will need to be shut down in order to recover properly. QB2 has to be QB1 for preparation.

Uteanooga replied to the topic Wilson in the forum Football 4 months, 2 weeks ago
I don’t think anyone is wanting to judge Wilson’s career or value to the program- people are observing that he has not been good. Which he has not. This is not to see that he won’t be good. But over two games he has played poorly and it is fair to say that this type of play will not be good enough for Utah to achieve the type of season that most…[Read more]

True freshmen are almost never good. Experienced and talented QBs are gold and they are hard to keep in stock. Wilson needs time.

Uteanooga replied to the topic Let's discuss and praise Dijon Stanley in the forum Football 4 months, 3 weeks ago
He is awesome- but he is pretty light for traditional RB play. It will be fun to see how Ludwig utilizes him. I hope it does not become predictable but I can’t imagine anyone wanting 180 lb Stanley trying to block 260 lb DEs or 320 lb tackles.
It is also hard to imagine sending his light frame up the middle a lot- at least until I remember John…[Read more]

You are a solid citizen and have my vote.
Just out of curiosity do you purchase all of the products advertised during the game?
As for me- I find watching commercials somewhat less enjoyable than the rest of my life.

Obviously I would rather be at all the games in person but that is just not in the cards.
The commercials have become a bit oppressive. I can’t imagine anyone liking them. So what do you do?
Hulu will not let me record the game and fast forward through them. I guess they are smart enough to know that no one wants to spend time watching them.…[Read more]

Uteanooga replied to the topic my grades for the game in the forum Football 4 months, 3 weeks ago
I thought Cam looked like his old self. He paced to the sideline with speed and took a run up the middle with a hit at the end. He was never a juke-out type of runner. 5 TDs in the 1st half.
Cam also gets a grade bump for running out on the field to get Wilson’s shoe. That was awesome. I don’t see any grade other than A for Cam.
Wilson looked…[Read more]

B10 and SEC are used to each getting 2 teams into the 4-team playoff most years. Expand by 3x and we are lucky they don’t each expect placing 6 teams into the 12 team playoff.
I guess that is the next step.

Uteanooga replied to the topic Depth Chart 👀: Gilman @ SS, Van & Logan co-starters, Dallen Bentley TE in the forum Football 5 months ago
Randle seemed destined to move to another position- 6′ 180 does not scream running back.
He has a lot of speed and quickness so I assume secondary or WR would be more natural positions for him. Obviously the coaches have a tremendous record moving players to positions where they can succeed.
Only do you see him sticking at corner?

He has a smooth voice- there is a future in broadcasting if he wants that some day.
Love the talk about why he does not like the Zoobs much. That was fun.
His confidence is awesome. I’m excited for the season.

Uteanooga replied to the topic Why did Whitt move away from the spread offense? in the forum Football 5 months ago
Whitt moved away from the spread when it was not working and there was talk of him being fired. These days are often forgotten now. He had two 5-7 seasons with poor offensive output and revolving OCs where they were looking for answers. The spread just was not working for the players in the program.
Defenses had no idea what to do with spread…[Read more]
