  • My point is to regulate the NIL from boosters and the fanbase getting screwed by student athletes who want to play wild wild west with the transfer portal. it is to prevent a player from collecting money from the NIL donors and then bolting to another school having not played a down in a game let alone attended the first spring or fall camps.…[Read more]

  • I think some kind of regulatory office needs to be established immediately to regulate the NIL system in college sports. Question is, who would oversee that office and provide enforcement? I don’t know, but I wouldn’t let the government do it. The NIL system is currently out of control and destroying college sports. Here some things off the top…[Read more]

With all these portal commits thus far in Utah’s post season I’m kinda curious how much NIL has Utah invested into the players that transferred to the program?! I wonder if they still have enough NIL for some of their top remaining targets?

  • Utah#1 replied to the topic Dampier or Wilson? in the forum Football 4 days, 10 hours ago

This should not even be a question! Regardless if Wilson looks spectacular in Spring and Fall camps, he’s not ready and won’t be ready in the near future. Jason Beck was hired to improve the offense and has made coaching and player moves. I prefer to start fresh and let him showcase his offense for the 2025 football season and also hope Whitt…[Read more]

Thus far it seems like Whitt is supporting/allowing Beck to do what he hired him to do on the offensive side of the ball. However, the true test comes next season where we will find out if Whitt will change his coaching approach and allow Beck to do his job in a way that will help the team win and not interfere. Go UTES!

  • They way I look at it, what goes around comes around. We will have some hard times ahead as long as Whitt is still head coach and BYU has their billionaire donor, but it all well come to an end. Whitt will be gone and Utah can begin rebuilding the football program and BYU’s billionaire donor won’t be able to save BYU’s programs no matter how…[Read more]

AMEN!!! Utah fans who want to s*** on other fans for not being loyal need to read your post! NIL is #1 problem in college football these day. As far as Utah football, I say Whittingham right now is the #1 problem in the program. I think many Utah players could have been salvaged and stay at Utah if it wasn’t for Whitt’s poor mismanagement of…[Read more]

  • Utah#1 replied to the topic I hope Wilson stays in the forum Football 2 weeks ago

From some of social media and sport boards confirms your post. Rumor has it Whitt had a few heated exchanges with Wilson’s parents, but didn’t say what it was about or elaborated. I also read somewhere he’s receiving NIL and believe part of the reason for his commitment to Utah (and not all because he’s 100% Ute in his heart) and why he’s #2 QB…[Read more]

  • Utah#1 replied to the topic RU Kidding Me in the forum Football 2 weeks, 1 day ago

True I agree, BUT many of this could have been avoided, and IMO, self-inflicted. Whitt’s love affair with 7-year starter Rising and NIL freshman Wilson over other QBs was an issue detrimental to their team success. The team is not always one person (Rising or Wilson), but a team effort and it caused a rift that should have never happened with a…[Read more]

  • I pray he retires! As much as I do love Coaching Whitt and what he’s done by building on what McBride and Meyer started, he’s now become the problem for the program and making the offense look worse by controlling and interfering too much. I think he can shoulder most of the blame for this season’s 5-7 record.

  • I wonder why? Not enough reps? Whitt’s the problem? Who knows, but I agree this would is a good one leaving. 🙁

  • Utah#1 replied to the topic Blind Resume For OC in the forum Football 2 weeks, 2 days ago

Totally agree and on-board with Utah getting Beck, the issue I have specifically with Whittingham is he’s a narccistic control freak and hires people in his circle or close to his inner circle by association or affiliation (Utah/TDS ties) that he can control and when he says jump, they say how hi.

Regardless of potentially getting Beck, I don’t…[Read more]

  • That maybe true, BUT it didn’t take OU and TT to long at all to lock down their OCs. Their serious and want results and will make it happen! It’s like Whitt has all the time in the world to figure it out while top notch OC prospects getting taken by other programs because you failed to respond accordingly or plain and simple F’d it up like they…[Read more]

  • Understand, but Whitt led on the media and fanbase about Rising’s injury and poor judgment on Wilson being QB #2, and the results thus far have gone against his better judgment. His name is also synonymous with “game time decision”, and again, we all know how that turned out? 8-5 and 5-7 seasons. Many fans and media now don’t believe him or take…[Read more]

  • I love Whitt as he’s a Utah Man, BUT he is only going to hurt the program and the team for the long term!

  • That maybe true, no doubt about that, BUT in Whitt’s 20 year head coaching tenure he’s gone through 10+ OCs and if you’ve followed Utah football over that span of time, most of the offenses Utah ran were pretty much the same with 10+ different OCs. You can’t tell me or anyone 10+ OCs all want to operate the same offenses year in and year out with…[Read more]

  • Don’t care if this offends some of you, but I think many of you Whitt apologist can come to the conclusion that as long as he’s HC at Utah, any good OCs (that are “outsiders”) still on the market will not be going to Utah. Two top failed OC hires in the last three days should confirm everything some of us already knew. Whitt’s not leaving,…[Read more]

  • Unfortunately the radio silence can be interpreted as, or an indication that Whittingham has failed to lock down the 2nd top OC on the market. OU has theirs and now TT. At this point Utah’s failure to hire a good OC is beginning to look bleak and i seriously doubt any other top candidate is coming to Utah because of Whitt. He’s not going to hire…[Read more]

  • Utah#1 replied to the topic Leftwich in the forum Football 2 weeks, 3 days ago

I’m getting sick of Whitt’s radio silence approach! His secret agendas have backfired on him so many times it took fans at the home games booing him and voicing their displeasure for how he’s handled things behind the scenes manifesting themselves at RES.

  • Utah#1 replied to the topic New Recruit Additions in the forum Football 2 weeks, 3 days ago

I think he changed at the last minute IF Utah offered him some NIL?! Nowadays, we just can’t assume recruits fall in love with Utah without it. Don’t get me wrong, some kids will go to Utah because of the culture, football history, and they really do like the program and find SLC awesome. However, Rising didn’t stay because he’s all in love…[Read more]
