If Utah did offer him more NIL money because of Beck, wonder why they didn’t offer Calhoun and Tanuvasa? Unless they have good backup options available at their disposal and confident they can replace those players, then I would have to trust their judgment, except Whitt’s. Go UTES!

Very true, but I believe there are some good wins in their that can still contribute.

Tanuvasa, is probably the worse, but we have other players that will step up and replace him!

The other two have never played a down of football for Utah, so we really won’t know if it will be impacting or not. We have other players that can contribute, and if Singer comes back, it will be a plus!

I also believe there is a lot of shady stuff going on behind the scenes from other schools taking our players, especially that school down south. that school wants to destroy Utah’s program and I believe will steal our players before they go anywhere else to pouch players. I could be wrong, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up at BYU.

Seriously doubt that is the issue! I just think because he’s Mormon and just came off an LDS mission he probably had a lot of little birdies, especially from BYU, strongly persuading him to go to BYU before he even sets foot back home. Doggy dogg world out there, whether its a religious school or not, practicing ethics is a foregone conclusion.

My point is to regulate the NIL from boosters and the fanbase getting screwed by student athletes who want to play wild wild west with the transfer portal. it is to prevent a player from collecting money from the NIL donors and then bolting to another school having not played a down in a game let alone attended the first spring or fall camps.…[Read more]

With all these portal commits thus far in Utah’s post season I’m kinda curious how much NIL has Utah invested into the players that transferred to the program?! I wonder if they still have enough NIL for some of their top remaining targets?

This should not even be a question! Regardless if Wilson looks spectacular in Spring and Fall camps, he’s not ready and won’t be ready in the near future. Jason Beck was hired to improve the offense and has made coaching and player moves. Thus far it seems like Whitt is supporting/allowing Beck to do what he hired him to do on the offensive side of the ball. However, the true test comes next season where we will find out if Whitt will change his coaching approach and allow Beck to do his job in a way that will help the team win and not interfere. True I agree, BUT many of this could have been avoided, and IMO, self-inflicted. Whitt’s love affair with 7-year starter Rising and NIL freshman Wilson over other QBs was an issue detrimental to their team success. I pray he retires! As much as I do love Coaching Whitt and what he’s done by building on what McBride and Meyer started, he’s now become the problem for the program and making the offense look worse by controlling and interfering too much. I think he can shoulder most of the blame for this season’s 5-7 record.

I wonder why? Not enough reps? Whitt’s the problem? Who knows, but I agree this would is a good one leaving. 🙁
