  • I love the role they have Nate playing. The role fits his skillset perfectly. Nates going to play a similar role to how New Mexico used Sol-Jay Maiava-Peters (Former BYU QB turned athlete for New Mexico). Sol-Jay played some wildcat, Running back, and receiver for New Mexico.

I appreciate that this offensive staff is willing to be creative with…[Read more]

Expect Shemwell to enter the portal too. Utahs been cross training Snowden and Scooby inside and outside. Jason Stokes will be in the rotation at corner. The 3 transfer corners are performing good as well. Jackson Bennee is going to be someone to pay attention for either safety or Nickel. He’s a walk on but will most definitely have a s…[Read more]

  • Way good looking! Nice work!

Fair feelings … until proven on the field it’s just hype.

That said this running back room is going to surprise some people. It’s not a finished room either. Guillory will be here in the summer and I expect the staff to add another back after spring.

Right now they’re performing really well though.

  • UteButters replied to the topic FOOTBALL in the forum Football 14 days ago

Yes the whole room is new.

The team has been having voluntary practices for a while now. These voluntary practices are mainly focused on install.

QB: B … Dampier is solid but needs to improve consistency throwing the ball. The backups are up in the air … Nate Johnson is playing receiver, but he’s a good security blanket for the group.

RB: B+ to A- … The backs are performing well right now. Solid all around group. Arguably our best running back room since 2021.

    WR/TE: C+ to B- … Z William…[Read more]

  • Lander was hurt all last year. Zero concern about him this year. Utah has the best linebacking room in the B12

  • I have the opposite opinion. Last year was extremely disappointing, but fans ran out a competent backup from 2023 for a true freshman. The fact we banked on true freshman Isaac Wilson to pick up Ludwig’s scheme was an absolute flop by the coaching staff! That being said …

2023 was an absolute success of a season with the circumstances given. 8 w…[Read more]

  • Utah signee (DT) Pupualii Sepuloa got his ratings bump and is now a 4 star.

This kid is a monster. Weight wise he isn’t far off from being playable as a true freshman. Same kid that made the all freaks list for last years HS class. Well deserved.

*Number 45 on the l…[Read more]

  • I understand the frustrations with the NIL/Transfer Portal era cause I feel it myself. It’s definitely a hard landscape to be a fan in.

Losing Calhoun was absolutely a loss. He most likely would’ve been penciled in as a starter for Utah this next season. So yes, he’s a loss.

Losing a “healthy” Kenan would also be a loss. But, fortunately we’re n…[Read more]

  • You think Keenan was going to be counted on to contribute for us this upcoming season? Talk about rinse and repeat if the coaches relied on an injured player to return and play meaningful reps!

The kid won’t even be ready to play until HOPEFULLY the beginning of the actual season … even then, it’s not guaranteed he would be healthy or ready…[Read more]

  • Best for both him and Utah.

  • Most people, AND Ute fans have forgotten just how well coached and good Utah is when healthy.

Utah will surprise people next year. I hope Utah is disrespected all off season cause they play better in the underdog role.

But I 100% expect Utah to be in contention for the B12 championship in November. IF Utah is healthy, they will be as good or…[Read more]

At the end of the day who cares? Give me guys who want to be a Ute! If Snowden wants to go to BYU for extra money then so be it! Snowden won’t fix their O line or D line which is by far their biggest area of need going into next year.

With or without Snowden, Utah will have a top 25 defense …

The issues for Utah falls completely on their hea…[Read more]

Karson Kaufusi is listed as a DT on the 2025 roster … and is weighing 286 lbs. Great news for the DT room.

No doubt Utah has to add 1-2 more DT’s through the portal but the cupboard isn’t bare.

Vakalahi is an absolute stud and will be a major player for Utah.

Vimahi is proven and has played in some huge games for Utah.

Jonah Le’eah is the wild card to me. Recruited as a linebacker a few years ago. Redshirted 2023, played a few snaps that year.…[Read more]

How do we see the defense shaping up? I’ve thought a lot about it and this is what I think will happen …

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Kash Dillon and wouldn’t be shocked if he’s starting … obviously we need one more DT from the portal but I expect Kaufusi and Sepulona to get some reps as freshman.

I personally expect Cyrus Polu to get…[Read more]

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Garcia work his way into a starting role, specifically that right guard spot.

That’s a good point Rick! The only hesitation I have with Guillory is that he’s 17 years old … he reclassified to this class to graduate from high school early!

That said, he absolutely has the skillset and ability to play and play early! I think it’ll depend on his adjustment to the college level. Worst case he plays sparingly and we redshir…[Read more]
