I’d sorta believe it. Didn’t Leach say that as long as a QB is accurate, he can teach him everything else? Barnes is a fairly accurate QB imo. He just isn’t good at processing the game and making multiple reads, which is probably why he holds onto the ball so long.

Dart has already played 2 seasons in the SEC. Another year of playing in the SEC isn’t gonna dramatically increase his stock, especially if he does worse if the competition increases. We haven’t had a 1000 year WR since Anderson in 2013, and you also listed TE’s. I said it before, but in the offseason, I’m going to do a mini write up project examining the best WR’s since 2010, and looking at their recruiting ranking. I guarantee it won’t be pretty for the “we need better WR talent” crowd.

Penix marginally ahead of Williams, both of which are way ahead of Nix. Nix won’t be a good NFL QB. He’s good right now because he’s got an elite team and he’s got the most starts of ANY QB in CFB history. Good CFB player, but I don’t think he’ll be good in the NFL.

Look, Grinch is certainly not a good DC, but I think it’s a more fundamental problem with Lincoln Riley’s philosophy, in the same way that Whitt has a fundamental problem developing QB’s. Exactly. Oregon is a damn good team AND they are healthy. We are an above average team but we are ravaged by injuries. Very few teams, if any, would be able to do well with our injuries this season. Oregon without Nix would be drastically worse.

McClain and King are both underutilized. Don’t know why our coaches don’t let them go for 50/50 balls. I think both could win such passes.

I would actually love to play them. Imagine we demolish them in a bowl game and then they would have to think about a much better, healthier Utah team next year in RES, for the entire offseason. Would be a treat, and I’d love to hear how they delude themselves into thinking they would have a chance next year.

The good thing is that Utah would probably get in via a tiebreaker since our schedule is the toughest.

Anyone else not care much? I felt way more disappointed during the Oregon State game. Sucks that the home win streak and undefeated painted helmets record are gone, but I just didn’t expect to really beat Oregon.

Hopefully you’re right. I’m pretty sure Utah allows quite a few big plays, but that’s just due to the aggressive nature of the defense.
