The problem with Rose is that, I’m assuming, he will most likely not be wanted back by Beck. He’s not a dual threat QB. Yes, he can occasionally run when needed, but he’s not a running threat like Dampier or 2021-2022 Rising. Wilson is probably the only QB Beck would welcome back, but I doubt the team wants him back.

I doubt we’d get them, but I’d like to see Utah offer Florida CB Ja’keem Jackson and TE Arlis Bordingham, since both were in RES in 2023, and both are positions of need.

Well, it makes sense. This year was supposed to be our year. The entire 5 projected WR targets at the start of the year (Singer, Alford, McClain, Pittman, and Parks) are all gone. Even considering TE’s, Kuithe, Bentley, Lohner, Ryan, and Miki are gone. The WR and TE room is completely devoid of proven talent.

Wow, I didn’t realize that Whitted and Ganther were fired. Was there an announcement on this?
Whatever the case, I hope this is a sign that Whitt is letting the Beck have full (or almost full) authority of the offense.

22Ute22 replied to the topic NIL and the portal might be the final straw for me in the forum Football 1 month, 1 week ago
You have to be dense to ask what changed. Why on earth would I see any of the players an anything but mercenaries who can be poached by richer programs after every season? Utah and other non-wealthy programs have to develop these players, only for them to be bought for more money. Why would I see us as anything but a feeder program? I’m done w…[Read more]

Uh, what? 2021 and 2022 were great years for rising. It’s just that 2022 the numbers were more spread out. 2021 was Tavion Thomas’ great year.

Lmao that would be terrible advice. Better payday after having a torn ACL and not having played in over 2 years? Wait, where have I heard that one before?
But seriously, he’s not getting a better payday. My guess is that Utah will hit the portal hard for RB’s.

In retrospect, our defense was pretty dang good this season. Probably not as good as last season, but still up to par to the defenses. Offense was just terrible.

And Arnold played much more talented competition.

What talent advantage did Arnold and Oklahoma have against SEC teams?

22Ute22 replied to the topic After attending 392 Ute games I’m done! in the forum Football 1 month, 3 weeks ago
Yup, I said this since the beginning of NIL and the announcement of USC/UCLA leaving the pac 12. For the last 15 years, I’ve spent all day Saturday watching CFB from 9am-10pm. But I’ve spent 3 Saturdays this years not watching any CFB live, and only watching some highlights. I simply do not care that much anymore. NIL and the P2 has killed mos…[Read more]

22Ute22 replied to the topic Sure it's conjecture, but I think this team is 8-4 at worst with Barnes and JJ. in the forum Football 1 month, 3 weeks ago
Agreed. I think in hindsight, we gave Barnes way too much slack last year. Last year was of course a ridiculously brutal schedule. Barnes had 5 bad games last year against Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona, and Baylor. He didn’t play against UCLA but he would have been bad in that game too. Of those teams, only Baylor was a ridiculously bad p…[Read more]

Hate to be proven right yet again, but I was dead on the money with my preseason worries at Center and Mokofisi.

You think so? We would literally have the record if we get a pick 6.

22Ute22 started the topic Sorry for giving up on our boys in the forum Football 2 months, 1 week ago
Wow, just checked the score expecting to be down by 2-3 scores, and we’re winning. After those pathetic games against Houston and TCU, I honestly just couldn’t bring myself to watch these team anymore. It was too painful, especially with the rest of the changing CFB landscape. But I believe our boys can pull this one out 🥹
If we lose though, may…[Read more]

I would say Becker was actually pretty good last year, and Jack B. was really good. But both have regressed, especially Becker. Our punt and kick returning is also awful.

22Ute22 replied to the topic Scalley vs Whitt in the forum Football 2 months, 3 weeks ago
This is the better option anyway. Whitt announcing that he will retire right now would be ridiculous, and him stepping down right now would be even worse. Hopefully we make a bowl game and we do what AzUTE said, which is to let Scalley run the bowl practice prep and the bowl game. But making a bowl game is sounding unlikely.

22Ute22 replied to the topic Kyle, thank you for everything but it's time. in the forum Football 2 months, 3 weeks ago
Yeah, but that’s Rose throwing into double coverage that’s the problem. Hence why I said to throw 1 on 1 50/50 balls.
