Let’s compare him to Tyler Huntley. Do you genuinely think Rising is a better thrower, specifically as a downfield passer, than Huntley? Because he’s not, and it’s not particularly close. Huntley was an UDFA and is now a backup QB. Additionally, Cam’s run game won’t be as good in the NFL where the defenders are stronger, faster, and more sound. Ad…[Read more]

Aside from hoping he plays, only to be disappointed when he doesn’t, it’s caused a huge rift and a lot of tension in our fanbase. I think people are just tired of it all. Additionally, I think most people have now assumed that he will play against Cal, and will not be playing against OSU. Of course we have no idea, but most people just don’t think…[Read more]

Baylor did do a lot of power runs, so it’s not like we haven’t seen it. They did have success in the 1st half, but once adjustments were made at halftime, they got shut down.

Anyone who would downvote this is nothing but a homer. Martinez and Fenwick are absolutely better RB’s than anyone we have. I think JJ can be on the same tier, or even higher than them, but he hasn’t shown it this year since he’s hurt. Also doesn’t help that teams aren’t afraid of our passing game and we have gone up against two really good D-li…[Read more]

The good thing is that OSU’s pass rush (or entire D-line for that matter) is nowhere near the level of UCLA’s or Florida. Their secondary is also very inexperienced and just meh. I don’t think their secondary is terrible in terms of coverage. Ward is just a magician and WSU has good WR’s. However, the tackling of their secondary is horrend…[Read more]

Ehh, I don’t make much of that game. Their QB had a really good game that day, and we were the wrong type of special on special teams.

Well said. Someone even said something similar a few days ago, and I will rephrase it a bit:
We can’t say “Next Man Up” except for the most important position on the field.

Why are you assuming that we want to give Nate all the reps for the rest of the season? No, we wanted NJ to get all the reps last week and this week to prepare him. After OSU, Cam takes over during the bye week, and gets 100% of the QB1 reps for 2 weeks. Play a bad cal team for knocking off the rust, and then get another week of QB1 reps for USC.…[Read more]

Do you think DJU looked good? I don’t. He didn’t look terrible, but definitely mediocre.

Not to mention that USC has to travel to and from South bend, against a very physical ND team. I hope USC wins a close, hard fought game. ND softens them up for us, and we win in the Coli and deliver the finishing blow on national television.

As much as I have been upset with the whole QB situation, I’m still holding out hope that when he does return, he’ll be just as good, if not better than his old self. The silver lining of his injury was that he decided to work on his throwing motion, apparently for velocity and distance on his throws. He trained with a QB Guru that has worked wit…[Read more]

No, but it’s going to depend on Cam Rising coming back after the bye week and playing like he played at the beginning of the 2022 season (Florida through USC). If Cam comes back and plays at that level, we could definitely beat USC and Oregon. I would still have us losing to UW since Husky stadium is tough and I think it’s a bad matchup for us.…[Read more]

People on this board probably just think I’m nothing but a pessimistic, terrible fan, but it’s this that wrongs me the wrong way. NJ seems like a really good guy. He’s trying his absolute damn hardest to get this offense going, and our coaching staff isn’t trying their hardest with him. They gave him 50% of the reps against a defense with two bor…[Read more]

Absolutely, that screen pass was so incredibly stupid. They should have just run 3 times, or done a play action, and if Hartman didn’t see anything downfield, he could just fall to the ground. But I’m just an armchair coach, what the hell do I know lol.

Nobody was booing the players, nor should they. They were booing the coaching staff and play calling. If coaches are making mistakes, they deserve to hear it. They’re making millions of dollars a year. Did you see the ND vs Ohio State game? Notre dame lost on the last play because they didn’t have 11 players on the field, only 10. Marcus Fre…[Read more]

Nate was injured during spring camp. We also have no idea how good Brandon Rose is, but the coaching staff literally said Barnes was back in the mix because he was apparently making less mistake, so I doubt Rose is a world beater. The QB choice next year is a complete toss up.

Didn’t Isaac Wilson have an injury that he was going through? I saw rumors that he got surgery for it, but it was more of a band-aid fix. If that’s true, he has zero % chance of starting next year, and it’s already low as it is. We just saw a true freshman 5 star play against his first P5 competition, and look completely lost. Moore also playe…[Read more]

We’ve been on the same page on this whole thing, but I definitely won’t be as nice about it. It’s absolutely no way to run a team. Doesn’t matter if it’s Cam Rising, or anyone else. Hell, even if it was Cam Newton from 2010, it doesn’t matter. Either you’re ready to play, or you’re not.

Cam is not getting drafted by an NFL team. He might be an UDFA if he’s lucky. Good college QB that doesn’t have the tools to make it at the next level. This is his last ride at football. Same with Kuithe. Kuithe is too slow to be a WR and too small to be a TE.

He took most of the reps from an inexperienced QB that desperately needs them, only to not play :/
Complete idiocy from the coaching staff. Seems like Whitt thinks he’s coaching the University of Cam Rising, and not the University of Utah.
