How do you know Nate can’t pass past 25 yards? You’ve literally never seen him try in a live game. He looked bad in spring because he was hurt and missed some practices. Let’s see what he can actually do. Even if he can’t this season, guess what, neither can Barnes! Barnes has a nice throw every 15 attempts, and that’s it.

Glad we get UCLA early. It’s gonna be Moore’s first game in a hostile environment.

22Ute22 replied to the topic LB Levani Damuni in the forum Football 1 year, 4 months ago
He is damn good. We have by far the best LB corp in the pac 12 and it’s not close. Barton, Damuni, and Reid are all great, and Medlock got hype in the offseason, so he should be a quality backup.

It was a call that could’ve gone either way. Baylor got their fair share of calls and no-calls, and we didn’t, so I don’t really care tbh.

Really sucks for him. He’s only listed as a junior, so I’m assuming he can come back next year? Not sure if he wants to spend another year in college though.

For real. Hopefully Nate sees this as a positive and has nothing but good memories. He seems like a really nice guy and a good kid. Personally, I would be PISSED if my coach kept me out over a pig farmer walk on who also worked at Lowe’s.

I’ve been criticized heavily by fellow Ute fans all offseason for saying that Barnes should never play another snap of Utah football. I’ve been told that all he needed was some prep time and a game plan tailored to his “strong suits”. Looks like Barnes believers can finally go crawl in a hole and never come back.

Chris Curry if he’s healthy. If not, then Dijon Stanley and John Randle probably. Both are true freshman, but apparently had good fall camps. Also, if our O-line does it’s job, I don’t think we should worry. It just sucks that so many of our guys are hurt. What the hall did we do to deserve such bad luck?

Yeah, I saw the game highlights and it was a good scramble, but you have to keep in mind that it was at the very end of the game and the Texas State defensive line was probably very tired. He also fumbled the ball anyway

Did he have a fall camp injury? I thought his injury last season was a broken ankle, so he should be ready by now unless he got banged up during fall camp.

Unfortunate as he was apparently the best RB through fall camp, but it doesn’t sound too serious. Hopefully we see mire of Chris Curry again.

22Ute22 replied to the topic Empathizing with Baylor fans in the forum Football 1 year, 4 months ago
I don’t think Baylor is 2021 Utah. Their starting QB Shapen was actually one of the few bright spots in the entire game, and he got hurt. Their backup QB definitely looks worse too. One thing to note is that 2021 SDSU was actually a very good G5 team. They went 12-2 and had a good front 7 if I recall correctly. Time will tell on Texas State, as t…[Read more]

No way they score 27 on us, even at home. They scored 31 against Texas State at home and we have a way better defense than that. I say we win 31-10.

22Ute22 replied to the topic How will the extreme heat affect the Utes? in the forum Football 1 year, 4 months ago
It will obviously affect them to an extent, but I don’t think it will make a huge difference if Baylor plays the same as they did last Saturday. It was the same temperature last Saturday and Baylor got whooped by a G5 team. Colorado also traveled from the mountains to 100 degree whether and won. We should be ok as long as they have fans and w…[Read more]

22Ute22 started the topic USC’s Raleek Brown in the forum Football 1 year, 4 months ago
He was USC’s kick returner and is a WR/RB hybrid player. Last year he had 227 yards rushing and 3 rushing TD’s and 175 yards receiving and another 3 scores. He has been passed up by the talented Zachariah Branch, and has just announced that he is redshirting today. Would love to get this guy as a replacement for Bernard after this season.

22Ute22 replied to the topic Is there a timeframe on the return of the other injured starters? in the forum Football 1 year, 4 months ago
I don’t know, but I don’t think we need them tbh. Give the reps to Medlock and Fotu for LB, and let Nate and Barnes pass more.

22Ute22 replied to the topic WR performance in the forum Football 1 year, 4 months ago
We don’t really know at this point. Once Utah gained a 17-3 lead at the half, it’s clear our coaching staff just wanted to run out the clock and rely on the defense. I hope we can pass more against Baylor. If we can get up early, I don’t want to see us just running out the clock. Nate needs passing reps to gain experience, and our WR’s need to…[Read more]

22Ute22 replied to the topic Cam Rising to practice without limitations in the forum Football 1 year, 4 months ago
I could be extremely motivated and angry, but that doesn’t mean I would beat a gorilla in a fight. O-line play can improve throughout the season, we saw it firsthand with our team in 2021, but it doesn’t happen over the course of a week, especially when Utah’s front 7 is significantly better than Texas State’s.

22Ute22 replied to the topic Blake Shapen Out Against Utah in the forum Football 1 year, 4 months ago
No way we lose. Shapen actually looked pretty good given how terrible his O-line played. The backup looked awful, and we should get even more pressure than Texas State. Just hope our coaches trust our QB’s to throw the damn ball.
