Let’s be honest, any QB could have done the same thing that day. Those WR’s did all the work.

Keon Coleman is incredible. I hope we try to can use Landen King like that, but I doubt our coaches want our QB’s to throw 50/50 balls like that. Shame, that’s probably one of the reasons we don’t get high end WR talent.

TCU is just in a rebuilding year. They should be fine. But I agree about Ok State, TTU, and Baylor. After all that smack talk about how they would be in the mix every year, and then they go and perform the way they did, big yikes. Although I think UCF could be really good, and KSU under Klieman looks good.

That O-line doesn’t look better than last year, and they were playing Coastal Carolina. RB’s look good but not on Charb’s level. Moore looks good but he’s a true freshman and we are his first pac 12 game and hostile road environment. He also isn’t anywhere near as fast or evasive as DTR was. Hopefully we get Pepa and Tafuna back, because Baylor would be completely screwed if we did. Hell, we might not even need them, but they would certainly help. Baylor will also probably be without their starting QB, as it looks like Shapen got hurt.

Good for him. I absolutely trust our coaching staff on defense, so if they didn’t think he was worth keeping around, then it’s best that he left. I think with our coaching and development, he should make a great G5 safety.

Nah, they stuck. Cam doesn’t even need to play. Cam just needs to play the first half against Weber to knock the rust off, and then Nate needs to throw it around in the second half to practice his passing and build some confidence.

We absolutely can use a 2 QB system against them. We just need to let Nate play loose and free. If he makes a mistake, that’s fine, but he looks nervous on passing downs.

Yeah, we got REALLY lucky with our two non-con P5 games. They both lost 4/5 O-line starters. Our offense isn’t good without Rising, but to give up 21 to a G5 team early in the 2nd quarter, there defense must be bad. Granted, I’ve heard that Texas State might be decent this year, but still, Baylor looks like poopoo. Hopefully they win though.

I just wonder why the defense looked a bit lost at times. Like sometimes their was a Florida WR left completely alone and our DB’s didn’t realize until 2 seconds before the ball was snapped. Seems like an easy mistake to correct during film watch though

Pretty big loss for them, actually. He’s the only true starter that returned on the O-line, and was one of the more experienced ones. The projected starting 5 had 3 guys not play in the spring game, and due to the injuries they’ve sustained, they have only 10-14 practices as a starting 5, 3 of which are in a new system. 6’4” 260 makes him tied with Van as our biggest DE, and he’s a sophomore this year. Also had 15.5 sacks as a freshman in JUCO. This guys sounds very promising.
