Man, if Glover can stop being an emotional sissy, he should realize that he can easily get more reps. Mitchell is hurt and he is fighting for reps against a walk on.

Where are the WR and RB screens though? You’d think we would do that to help our inexperienced QB.

  • He’s not playing. I told you, these types of injuries don’t fully heal in just 2 weeks. I’m assuming that an inexperienced Wilson is better than a hindered Cam.

  • 22Ute22 replied to the topic Cam says Cam will play in the forum Football 3 months, 2 weeks ago

I don’t care what OnlyU or Ghost say about Cam. I’m not gonna be confident in 1) cam playing, and 2) cam playing well (not bothered by injury) until I see it with my own two eyes. I’ve had pretty bad/deep cuts and wounds before (although not on my finger), and one thing I’ll say is that they generally have not healed to 100% for much longer…[Read more]

  • Go tell that to Colorado or FSU. The portal is fine as long as you use it to supplement your team and fill holes. Utah will probably get a lot of transfers this year due to how much we will lose at WR, TE, and maybe LB depending on if Damuni or Barton come back. However, Utah doesn’t get the really highly rated recruits. We get outbid for those guys too.

  • And our recruiting class is officially mediocre. 5th in average recruit in the big 12 is a big yikes.

  • 22Ute22 replied to the topic King in the forum Football 3 months, 3 weeks ago

Yup, I think this is the truth. Here is how the TE room shakes out:

Traditional TE: Bentley, Ryan, Miki (in that order).

Tweeter TE: Kuithe, Lohner, King (in that order).

Last year Miki and King got significantly more playing time because there was nobody else except for Bentley and Yassmin. Yassmin got injured in like game 5 I think, and…[Read more]

  • Not this again. No, that conference would not be more enjoyable. SDSU, CSU, and Boise State? Are you serious? Even Cal and Stanford are terrible teams. For all the talk of Utah running the big 12, Utah would legitimately dominate that boring version of the pac 12 that you propose.

I also think it’s funny considering that had we been included i…[Read more]

  • So is this the dark mode game then? I’m assuming they won’t pass up the opportunity to play with the throwback black unís at night, since there isn’t a guaranteed shot of getting it again.

  • 22Ute22 replied to the topic Alford and McClain in the forum Football 3 months, 3 weeks ago

Of course they are great, but you can’t just use 2 DE’s (when O’Toole got injured). They need rest, and our backups should be able to offer them that if they are supposedly so good that they could start at other teams.

  • 22Ute22 replied to the topic Alford and McClain in the forum Football 3 months, 3 weeks ago

Can we add in Daley, Fitzgerald, and Vili on defense? Our DE room is supposed to be the deepest on defense and we heard in the offseason how loaded they are, and that our backups would start at many teams. However, it seems that Logan Fano and Van played the majority of the snaps yesterday. Why isn’t there a heavy rotation with those 3 I mentioned above?

  • Yeah, our LB’s have been fairly disappointing this year, especially with Damuni out.

  • Agreed. Bernard is looking good and has been healthy, but Mitchell is already playing hurt. That leaves only Stanley as a scholarship RB, but he’s very light. At the very least when Stanley is in the game, they should consider doing some tosses to the outside to get him to the perimeter instead of just sweeps that are very predictable, but of c…[Read more]

  • That’s the story that was given and we have no reason to believe it’s not true. RB’s take a beating, especially when you’re a bellcow like JJ. Plus, his family is, from what I’ve heard, not very wealthy. I’m guessing that when he saw all the injuries on our team last year and he himself was playing hurt, he decided the bag at Arkansas was the bet…[Read more]

Wow, I turned this game off because I thought TCU would run away with it. Guess I better watch the highlights. As for why they ran the ball, their best weapons on offense are their RB’s. They have the best RB corp in the big 12 imo.

  • Agreed. Our DL has looked like trash this game. Absolutely no pressure on USU for Christ sake. Apparently Sly said on the radio that Scalley has been calling the plays late on defense?

  • Seriously, our OL looks so mediocre. Even if the play calling is a bit predictable, we are playing a mediocre G5 team and they look soft.

  • Disagree. South Carolina played very undisciplined and that huge shove on the QB was completely unnecessary.

  • We need to hire a great, experienced OC when Scalley takes over. He has absolutely zero HC experience and the last thing we need to do is hamper him with an inexperienced OC.
