Agree, Utah passing 40 times and running 30 times with a true freshman QB is bewildering to me. But then again maybe Utah doesn’t have the depth at RB with Mitchell average 1 YPC. Sheesh.

You’re right, we should have rejected the BIG 12 invite and went independent or went back to the MwC.

Some of us still think it’s Christmas that Utah ever made it into the PAC 12 and would have equally been thrilled to leave the MW for BIG 12. I don’t remember playing at Laramie or Albuquerque this year. More change is yet to come. Stay grateful and those good vibes will pay dividends down the road.

Typically, Max Protect only has 3 pass catchers running routes beyond the line of scrimmage. An ‘extreme’ good example is Money Parks 20 yard catch in the second quarter at the 13:00 minute mark. In that play Utah only sends 2 receivers downfield. They have 8 protecting the QB. It gives Wilson time and the Utes pick up a big chunk play.

Only 1 sac allowed on the year (Fillinger). That being said, they are mostly in max protect.

Cam is elite at audible to a good protection and audible to the TE to get the ball out fast. His counter to a blitz is a quick pass to the TE.

Wrong. Sorry. OK state was in max protect all game and has been in max protect all season. 6 blocking 4 is going to be pretty strong at protecting the QB. The fact that Utah had a lot of hurries helped win the game.
