We’re last in the BIG 12 in rushing TD’s. LAST!
In fact, every team in the BIG 12 has double digit rushing TD’s except for us and Houston (7), with the average being 13.5. We are barely above 1/3rd of the average amount of rushing TD’s.

Meanwhile Utah threw the ball 37 times and ran the ball 36 times.
I’m thinking our coaches don’t have confidence in our run game. Bernard only had 14 carries.
This could have been an easy win. We just don’t have the running backs.

No, not last year, but he is this year. That’s why I said, “Could have had it this year with Jaquindon but hindsight hinted that he was always injured and not worth the value of the NIL he could get elsewhere.” I think he has 10 TD’s through the first 6 games this year. I’d take that.

The other half of the equation is a running back that seeks contact and punishes the defense, wearing them down, a compliment to Utah’s defense, like what we’ve seen the last 20+ years at Utah. Stop the fear mongering. The portal giveth and the portal taketh away. We’re going to have a good O-Line come back and a good defense. That’ll continue to be our mantra with Scalley. I’m excited to get some younger coaches in and to see if they vibe with recruiting better than Ludwig.

On AZ State’s first TD Lander Barton has the QB in the open field, well behind the LOS and doesn’t break down, over persues, loses contain, and gets beat on both a 3rd down and a 4th down which could have been easy sacks.
