Should I be concerned that the Utes are committing significantly more penalties at home than on the road? I can’t imagine that is typical.

Wow, the most interesting part of this thread to me is how clear the top individual performances have been. When I wrote the OP I had 3 in mind, and decided to post only Joe Williams’ game against UCLA. My other two were 2) Dalton Kincaid going 16 for 16 against USC and 3) Reggie Dunn’s kick returns. I thought there would be a lot more parity in responses, but I see now that when you witness a truly dominant performance, it leaves an impression on everybody.
Shout out to those that chose CPIII against Oregon State! That is one that I hadn’t thought of, and having been at that game, it definitely left an impression. When the back-up QB came in and immediately threw another interception to him I thought, “How are they still even considering putting it in his area?!”

Of course he won’t be sitting in the chair, he’ll be standing on the sideline! 😉

Sorry Tony, I looked at the help section and tried to post the image correctly, but it looks like I still failed to make it work properly!
Edit: Fixed it. I thought it was an image rather than a link. My mistake!

I went last year, and there was a family that was entirely decked out in green Oregon gear. A couple of the more vocal USC fans razzed them a bit, but otherwise they were well received from what I saw. You should be fine in Utah gear, just be complimentary of the teams playing of course.

That certainly seems like the most plausible explanation! I just thought it was a funny correlation.
To the OP, I have loved how clean the Utes have played lately! I remember how surprised I was last game when they announced the first penalty against Utah late in the 2nd or early in the 3rd quarter.

I’m honestly surprised to hear that the east side looks lacking. Looking from the east side to the west, the west looks like it NEVER really fills up. At kickoff it usually looks around 40% full, but what really concerns me is that I often look across during the 2nd or 3rd quarters and there are still very obvious gaps. I don’t know that I’ve seen it look “full” for any game that isn’t a marquee match up like USC or BYU.
For the life of me I will never understand how people can pay for tickets, and have such a limited number of home games, and not make it a priority to be there!
Shout out to the north endzone though, you guys always represent! We are closer to that side, and I love the energy you all bring. I can’t imagine that any opponent likes to be driving that direction on a crucial drive, because they are going to get an earful!

Well, now I know we’re screwed. The Caliman All-Caps Certainty Curse has been invoked.

It absolutely blows my mind that it not only happened, that it happened to their top potential recruit, and there wasn’t an apology made for MONTHS. That is insane to me. Recruiting is the lifeblood of a program. How can you brush that off without a thought? Credit to Spencer though for learning from the experience, but also just laughing it off and getting a great story out of it. What a huge blessing for Utah!
