If this is the case, why the hell did Whitt hire him?

That is the million dollar question, and the answer to it may be the ultimate reason why Utah and KW go separate ways in the future.

Yeah, free market capitalism is great….until it’s not.  Without regulation, there would be about 3 companies in the entire U.S.  See the United States circa 1915 for a perfect example of what unchecked capitalism looks like.  

The same traits that people criticize Mayfield for (cocky, arrogant, provocative) are the same traits that make him great as a player.

It’s all about incremental progress.  My expectations are to appear in the P12 championship game.  If we can achieve that, my expectations will increase, but not until then.

With that said, it’s pretty amazing what Utah has accomplished so far:

During the last 3 seasons, Utah has gone 9-4, 10-3, and 9-4.  Because of the recent history, 9 wins has become the new expecation, so why is it comical to you that fans expect to win 9+ games?  It’s not an unattainable expectation when you’ve already achieved a certain level of success.
