UteFanatic started the topic This is why I wasn't worried about Stanford. in the forum Football 3 years ago
Stanford’s rush defense is beyond awful, and Utah is emerging as one of the best rushing offenses in the conference.

I thought they’d be favored, but that’s a pretty solid opening line for Utah. OSU is tough, should be a good game.

UteFanatic started the topic Crowd noise in the forum Football 3 years, 2 months ago
It’s flat out inexcusable the team wasn’t ready for the crowd noise. That is an egregious coaching failure.
Every single person knew that stadium was going to be absolutely rocking after their B12 invite.
That is so disappointing to hear. It’s WTF things like this that have me really concerned about where our coaches heads are at. -
UteFanatic started the topic As SDSU goes, the season goes in the forum Football 3 years, 2 months ago
It goes without saying the SDSU game is a bellwether for the rest of the season. So many questions and concerns voiced by Ute fans since the BYU loss will be answered in this game.
– Does KWhitt still have the drive and passion required to turn this team around?
– Was our o-line really as bad as they looked?
– Can our young but talented DEs…[Read more] -
UteFanatic started the topic Oregon-tOSU game shows why having elite teams in a conference is so critical in the forum Football 3 years, 2 months ago
P12 has been down for several years, but there is still some elite teams in the conference. USC and Oregon recruit as well as most other blue bloods, and it only takes one good game like Oregon is having for there to be a renewed national interest in these programs and the conference as a whole.
Whe elite teams perform well, people tune in.

UteFanatic started the topic Crazy how little time GameDay has spent talking about B12 expansion in the forum Football 3 years, 2 months ago
It was briefly mentioned in the headlines at the beginning of the show, but not a peep since. It’s little more than an afterthought in the CFB world. I think the new B12 may struggle to stay relevant.
Yes, the P12 has its own issues with visibility and relevance, but at least it still has premier teams. -
UteFanatic started the topic A few thoughts on the upcoming "in-state game" in the forum Football 3 years, 2 months ago
The secondary looked a little bit lost last night, I don’t know if that’s because they were just playing more of a base zone or what, but I am a bit concerned. I hate to admit it, but if BYU has a strength this year, it’s their WR core. We know Samson is talented when healthy, he made a lot of big plays for Utah. And they have Puka, who is…[Read more]

UteFanatic replied to the topic Utah Football throwing some shade at Ohio State in the forum Football 4 years, 11 months ago
I agree with this. However, on the flip side, it’s also kind of silly that Ohio State fans are so triggered by losing a commit to Utah when they have more 5 stars in their 2020 class than Utah has ever had in program history.
Their fans have some serious superiority complex issues.

UteFanatic started the topic "Colorado…" in the forum Football 4 years, 12 months ago
Guys, I’m still baffled CU beat UW. CU pretty much shut UW down and easily controlled the game. What the hell is happening? Has CU significantly improved or has UW completely imploded this year? Is it both? I’m honestly less surprised by ASU’s win over Oregon than I am with CU’s win over UW. Oregon showed signs of weakness this year and I…[Read more]

UteFanatic started the topic Theoretical matchup vs Minnesota in the forum Football 5 years ago
Does anyone know how one would predict the outcome if Utah were to play Minnesota? It seems likely that if Utah goes to the Rose Bowl, they have a very good chance of playing Minnesota. I’m just wondering what that theoretical match up would look like.
I know there are ways of doing this using Sagarin, FPI, and SP+ rankings – but I don’t know…[Read more] -
UteFanatic replied to the topic You know what's really strange? in the forum Football 5 years ago
I was careful not to use the word “poor” in my original post because that’s not accurate. I think mediocre still applies here because everything is relative, and compared to what we’re used to, it is very much a downgrade and we’d be upset about it if the offense was like those of years past.
My only point was that we’ve barely even noticed the…[Read more]

UteFanatic started the topic You know what's really strange? in the forum Football 5 years ago
For the first time in a long time, Utah’s placekicking and punting are mediocre. However, we’ve barely even noticed because our offense has been excellent, therefore, we don’t punt very often and now score touchdowns instead of field goals.
It’s weird as a Ute fan to have a very good offense. -

UteFanatic started the topic Guys, don't worry about Minnesota in the forum Football 5 years ago
They had a good win last week, so the AP voters have some recency bias. Their schedule is horrendous and they still have to play two ranked teams in the regular season and a very tough Ohio State (or rematch with Penn State) in the B10 Championship.
If Utah wins out and beats Oregon, we’ll be ranked ahead of Minnesota. - Load More
