A few positives I see for this sort of thing is 10 teams in each division means potentially everyone can play all the other teams in their division every year with all teams playing 9 conference (division games) (instead of some play 8 and some play 9).

Utah fans are lamenting the loss of Worster and (to a lesser extent) Exacte. But it’s a mass exodus in Provo the last few days.

Maween (sp?), Center, came out of Granger High, played at Night with the Running Utes then was red-shirted. Transferred to Kansas State where he played a significant role.

Doesn’t like to stay in the same place. Given he burned us a few years ago, I wouldn’t even look at him.

Crazy that we had a better percentage for treys than from the charity stripe.

On a neutral court, Utah beat a good Wake Forest team and played well in losses to Houston and St. John’s. Also crushed Arizona State in Vegas before running into a red hot Colorado team.

Rollie was a consistent performer always good for about 10 points, 5 boards and 5 assists. Very seldom had an unproductive outing. Missed his own triple double last year when Anthony took away a late rebound from him.

Would be nice for him to stick around.

Tarlac just never seemed to play consistently at the college level. Very surprised if he is still around next season and as always, wish him well whatever path his life takes him.

Keita has the body and athleticism to become a great basketball player. Still in need of fine-tuning many parts of his game (in particular needs to improve his outside shooting skills). I hope he’ll stay with Utah another year at least, but he’ll certainly be a very attractive and sought after target in the transfer portal.

I guess one nice thing about having a hoops program stuck in mediocrity is we aren’t worrying about our coach being poached by other programs.

I feel for our brothers up north. Any time a team/coach (especially football and men’s hoops) shows promise, someone comes in with a $$$$$ offer that they can’t refuse.

3 of us will be there Wednesday night. Will note that parking is FREE for these NIT games (in the parking garage as well as lots directly south of the garage).

Good game by Ian Martinez. I seem to remember in his year with Utah, he played very sparingly until the last few weeks when he had some minutes and went off. Made me wonder where he had been for most of the season. Wish we could have held onto him.

Tough call on the last clean block. But you let a player get that far out in front, it will be rare to make that block from behind and not be called.

NIT <<<< Big Dance, but

NIT >>>>> no post season.

Will be there (late) tomorrow night to cheer the team on.

After over a half decade with no post season play at all, making the NIT is a slight improvement. I think we’re pretty much a lock to get a bid, not sure if we will get a seed high enough to host a game or two however.
